[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 Beta is available

Just wondering if anyone are experiencing the same logic for OpenVPN configuration. Basically: Every time I press 'Apply' on an OpenVPN server instance. Even without changes to any config. The router will generate a new unique 'Static Key', even if one already exists in field. The other...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 382.1 Beta is available

@RMerlin: Thanks for the beta :) Going through the motions of configuring my new RT-AC86U with 382.1_beta1, and factory reset. One small issue. I assign most of my devices manual IP through DHCP. For some reason I cannot get over 25 entries on the 'DHCP Server' tab. Not been a problem before...

    Updating Multiple noip.com DDNS Hosts?

Agree. It was more a reference to routers I have worked with in the past who have had its own limiting validation of host name before encoding the URL. Not accepting ',' at all. Or just cutting out the comma and everything after. I guess group logic could save the day then.

    Updating Multiple noip.com DDNS Hosts?

I'll not disagree that your way might be more correct, especially if scaling with more IP's and host names. But the ',' method has its uses for only a few names. It is part of DynDns's update API (look Field / hostname): https://help.dyn.com/remote-access-api/perform-update/ Also looks like...

    Updating Multiple noip.com DDNS Hosts?

I use DynDns myself. There it is possible to put following in 'Host Name:' field of my Asus router (AC-3200): hostname1.dyndns.org,hostname2.dyndns.org Works out to make both host names resolve to external IP of router. If this works with NoIp, I do not know. Might be worth a try. I.e., using...

Empty without your regular posts here. Though, probably a good teaching point for us, you not holding our hands all the time. Health first. Take care & get well!

    3KB/s incoming "phantom" WAN traffic/broadcast (RT-AC66U) ?

@skogsmaskin Sorry m8. Never got around to contacting Get.no. Not logging like you, so have just accepted the 3KB/s traffic, for now :o We have the same Cisco EPC3010 cable modem. Have also been on the status/login page of the modem. No luck though. Guess the easiest way is to find some...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Well, that was fast  Updated firmware, tested with/without MAC filter and so on. Everything works for my purposes (MAC filter on main wireless, no MAC filter on guest wireless). Thanks :)

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Just want to add that I would really appreciate such a fix/feature. For me the Guest network is unusable now. Because of the forced main Wireless MAC filter :( Yes. I could disable the MAC filter, not much security added. But for me it sort of functions as a check-list of my own wireless...

Thanks for the pointer :) Looks like I need to read up on ifconfig / ebtables / iptables. See what I can make work.

Guest WLAN network, Access Intranet to Disable, except IP ? possible ?

I have 'Access Intranet' to Disable on my Guest network. But I would like my Guests to have access to one specific device that has a static IP on my network. Anyone know if it would be possible to write such a rule, giving Guests access to one specific IP ? Or would by-design, or security...

    The rmerlin donation thread.

Done (again). Not that easy to find donation link. Understand the fake link paranoia. But here is the link to Merlins own post (on this forum): http://forums.smallnetbuilder.com/showpost.php?p=61974&postcount=2 Go to his "Official website", look at left navigation column for "Donations"...

SSH & Web Access is accessible over WAN even though this option is disabled!

Aaah. Sorry, I didn't read your posts good enough :o You have an ASUS Router that is using it's built-in VPN client to dial-out. I though it was the other way round, OpenVPN server on ASUS Router, dial-in. Think the guy above is onto something, hope you find a solution that works :)

SSH & Web Access is accessible over WAN even though this option is disabled!

I do not really see a problem with this behavior. Pretty certain we do not have a security problem. How I try to think about it: - [Internet Devices] <-> (WAN-side)[ASUS-Router](internal-side) <-> [Local Devices] Now. The settings we are talking about are the "... access from WAN" side...
