Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Right now my uptime is over 10 days. So something from last wipe to most recent wipe must have changed for the better, despite using the same scripts and gear. But true, the lifespan of a USB stick vs a SSD drive may differ a lot. But I made sure my USB stick wasn't of the cheapest, low quality...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

My second wipe seems to have done something regarding my issue where it dropped all connections and seemingly acted like it rebooted completely or partly. It's mostly just the disabled logging of Skynet that is the difference. I'll test a complete second week before testing a fully rebooted...

    Skynet New Skynet 7.5.9 Release

Exactly what I did before. But originally Skynet glitched when temporary trying to disable via 11, 3. Now it works all the sudden after reinstalling will full logging and disable the same way I tried to do previously.

    Skynet New Skynet 7.5.9 Release

So if I get a random reboot, I do that and can recover all the logs rows that happened like 6h ago inside General log/System log window? As it is, Skynet can fill that window in like 10 minutes ;-)

    Skynet New Skynet 7.5.9 Release

Due to many syslog rows generated while blocking connections, that much that it made other trial and error in syslog harder, I tried to disable logging (temporary until I know what my issue actually is). But when trying turning it off, the cli pretty much just restarts. Can anyone turn off and...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

True, but at this stage I don't know if the problem even exist anymore. I could be waiting on something that does not happen. If it ends up happening only when Skynet is active, like any possible stressing the system for example, I would still need to capture something of value. BTW, found out...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Well... if it blocks a connection and reports it, it's not broken right? If solved now anyway, then I would be done. If not I could disable Skynet again. Do a test run with showing all logs. Backstepping rather than running with a config for approx two weeks that I don't plan to use anyway was...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

It's everything. 2.4 GHz with WPA2/WPA3 and 5 GHz with WPA3. Rare with a specific client dropping by itself. But everything, including wired, at the same time is more critical. Even if I pretty much never notice it besides seeing the uptime being reset.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

I use the app VPN Client Pro for OpenVPN. The exported profile uses "data-ciphers" when imported, and that triggers a warning. "2024-02-04 10:28:27 Note: --cipher is not set. OpenVPN versions before 2.5 defaulted to BF-CBC as fallback when cipher negotiation failed in this case. If you need...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

BTW, VPN still seems to require manual renew of certificates to work. I assume the normal behaviour should be to valid right from the first time you turn the VPN server on.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

If you refer to my hardware, RT-AX88U (non Pro). I can get random disconnects of everything. By the looks of the logs, everything seems to start over (reboot). However, not been able to capture any actual error before it happens. And the error can come everything from a few hours to many days...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Nice to hear. Then I start the process of full wipe again. I've done many dirty flashes before and have never really needed this amount of trial and error.

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Already did (twice). Think the last time was on the beta for this firmware. Even installed and changed stuff in steps as a trial and error. But the length of the uptime... if everything from a few hours to a week. Trying something and you might see the result next week... 😉 It can easily become...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 3004.388.6 is now available

Some would probably say that about Merlin Firmware too. Why use that if you can use stock. The devs of those addons certainly thinks it can be a valuable purpose they add, right? In this case however. Skynet did just fine on previous firmware. I have added Diversion slightly before firmware...
