XT8 troubleshooting log, cfg_server possibly an issue

So Asus took my XT8's back to review and see if there's an issue, I have a new set now (still hw 1.0) and am going to try hooking one up as a node. Updates to follow!

Going back and forth with asus, not promising

XT8 troubleshooting log, cfg_server possibly an issue

OK so interestingly I'm running one of the XT8 nodes on that beta firmware above, and one on 386 firmware and am not getting the cfg_server memleak anymore. Maybe try mismatching firmware versions to see if it does that nonsense?

Lol nope mine just started doing it again. Rolling back to 386 again.

XT8 troubleshooting log, cfg_server possibly an issue

I got a beta firmware from Asus engineers for xt8s while troubleshooting something different, try this https://www.asuswebstorage.com/navigate/a/#/s/CB7C3DDA15B740AD9F3D08A398A2A836Y

Flash back to 386. Solved it for me. 388 still pretty buggy in myriad ways (syncing guest network to aimesh nodes causes random ip dropouts on guest network from nodes as an example)

EXACT same behavior where killall cfg_server instantly returns webui to snappy as heck. What's up with that Asus? I'm also waiting on L2 support.

Also having weird issues on XT8 nodes since 388 firmware. Will update if I figure anything out :D

    GT-AX6000 performance/guest wifi issues

I should note, this exact setup worked great before going to 388 firmware. I could try rolling back to 386 and seeing if this cures the issues.

    GT-AX6000 performance/guest wifi issues

GT-AX6000 main, two XT8 mesh nodes w/ 2.5g hard-wired backhaul. Currently on 388.21617 on main and nodes. If I enable guest wifi sync to nodes, everything completely freaks out - ips don't get handed out, etc. I've submitted feedback to Asus multiple times and have gotten no response. Any ideas...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0 (continued)

I also have horrible WiFi calling performance on zenwifi XT8 - no matter which node, half the time it will start a wifi call then drop or I can't hear the other person... I've completely disabled it at this point. Sidenote - any idea if the RT-AX89X will ever make it in here?

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0 (continued)

Also, after some reading, D-Link's upcoming switch and USB 2.5GBE adapter look *sweet* - DMS-106XT and DUB-E250. Maybe a little early to be adopting multi-gig :D

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0 (continued)

Huh. So the Qnap switch is a no-go but we have no idea why - if it's not loopback protection and it's not LLDP, perhaps the switch just has a controller that doesn't play well with Asus? Seems unlikely, I might still pick one up to test with and an AX86U (or 89x or gt-11000, long as it's got a...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0 (continued)

That's frustrating, is Asus working on a workaround for this? I assume many switches have loop protection built in

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0 (continued)

...and it didn't work? This is the exact switch I was planning on buying and running with an Ax86U or GT-AX11000 and XT8 nodes, Aimesh doesn't work through it?
