    ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 (Owners)

I've tried searching but failed in finding any answers. If my question has already been answered, I'm sorry, and please direct me to the thread. So, the question: Is it possible to do VPN (openvpn, VPN Fusion) and port forwarding? I'm using the VPN service Mullvad and port forwarding works...

Does An AC Router Improve N Device Performance?

You used a firmware for RT-N66U based on the newer SDK 6 wireless driver. The older ones with SDK 5 have alot (!) better wifi performance. I'd even say wifi is half-broken with SDK 6. I use Shibby's (Tomato) latest firmware with SDK 5. Edit: I just tried the latest version by Shibby with SDK 6...

Why wouldn't you force N? I've used that since years back...

    RT-N66U and Tomato

Tomato Firmware 1.28.0000 MIPSR2-121 K26 USB AIO-64K That's the version with SDK 5.110. If you want worse range, pick the AC one with SDK 6. Flash and then clear nvram by holding wps button while powering up. I've used Shibby's Tomato since i bought it a year ago and haven't had a single...

    Need Recommendtion: N56U vs N66U

If you can't log on to web gui, give your nic a static address (like 192.168.1.12), default netmask and gateway 192.168.1.1. When flashed and rebooted, clear nvram by pressing the wps button while powering on. Finally, set your nic to receive an ip address automatically from the router's dhcp...

ASUS RT-N66U intermittent poor 'net connection after "ancient" firmware is updated

I've read that as well but I haven't experienced any problems at all with it. I get 4-5 times the throughput compared to SDK6 at 2,4GHz. I'm gaming alot and wouldn't tolerate any latency or instability at 5GHz. Streaming 1080p at 2,4GHz works without any hiccups.

Or you can use this, with SDK 5.110 and the latest security patches: http://tomato.groov.pl/download/K26RT-N/build5x-121-EN/Asus%20RT-N66u%2064k/

Asus locking down routers to comply with new FCC rules

With the latest Tomato by Shibby, SDK 5.110, on my RT-N66U, I got all channels on both bands and the excellent range and throughput that we had when the router was new a couple of years ago. What SDK is DD-WRT Kong using? I haven't tried it since I'm assuming it's SDK 6, and since DD-WRT has...

    Adaptive QoS

Neat! When they - or you - get that working, I'm buying a new Asus router. RT-N66U can't handle 100/10mbps with Tomato QoS.

What's the difference between this and the L7 up/down capable QoS in recent versions of Tomato?
