Asus N56 with Dlink DIR 655 - which to use as access point?

I have a DIR 655 and just bought an Asus N56. Which of these should I configure as the access point? I was thinking of having the DIR 655 handle .b clients and the Asus handle .g (2.4ghz) and .n (5ghz) clients. Does that make sense? Thanks!
