    MU-MIMO on Asus art-AC87U

Given your explanation, which would be the better configuration - - bridge mode or AP mode? I was under the belief (mistaken?) that AP mode did not suffer the 50% speed loss that is incurred with bridge mode. Since I am using powerline (D-Link DHP-701 AV2000) to connect my APs to the router...

    MU-MIMO on Asus art-AC87U

Thanks. Doesn't sound good for people like myself who have already purchased their routers on manufacturer claims that MU-MIMO would be added to their router.

    MU-MIMO on Asus art-AC87U

Now that the Netgear X4 V2 has MU-MIMO activated, and Netgear has stated that it intends to upgrade the firmware on the X8 to activate MU-MIMO by year's end, is there any hope for a firmware upgrade to the RT-AC87U to activate MU-MIMO functionality? In its promotions for the RT-AC87U, Asus has...

ASUS EA-AC87- How to add 2.4GHZ Functionality

To obtain 2.4GHZ Coverage, does the EA-AC87 need to be used with another device (AP or converted router AP) that has 2.4GHz functionality? The problem I have is that I have a mixture of devices that are wireless 2.4 GHZ only capable and 5.0GHZ capable. From the Asus literature I know that the...

    Linksys EA8500 as Access Point

Can the Linksys EA8500 be configure as an AP? I know it can be configured in bridge mode, but it comes with a 50% loss of speed. Thanks all for your help.

Router/ Gateway Recommendation for Ruckus Xclaim Xi-3

I am interested in the Ruckus Xi-3 APs, but I would appreciate any advice for a compatible router/Gateway to use with them. I have minimal networking/CLI skills. I have no trouble configuring consumer grade routers such as Asus, etc., but even if I were to go with an Ubiquiti Edgerouter Lite...

    Asus RT-AC3200 as AP?

Good point. My main interest in the Ac3200 as an AP was its smart connect feature, but am hesitant in view of the replies members have made to add possibly more complications to my network.

    Asus RT-AC3200 as AP?

Thanks. As sfx2000 points out, adding the Asus AC3200 to my network may add further complication. I think I will work some more attempting to solve the disconnects and instabilty with my AC66 routers and wait to see how the new technologies are refined over time.

    Asus RT-AC3200 as AP?

Yes. The number is inflated somewhat by the fact that I run several media/music software programs on my computers and tablets that are assigned their own IP addresses by my main router, but as far as the router is concerned it manages 30-35 devices on a regular basis.

    Asus RT-AC3200 as AP?

Due to the configuration of my house, my current network is based upon 3 Asus RT-AC66R routers, with one acting as a main LAN router and the other two configured as APs. The main router obviously handles the routing for my network, but handles very little wireless traffic. The heavy wireless...
