    386.1 Possible upload issue?

ok, thanks! I want to install stock code and see if that changes anything so I can report the issue to Asus but I am being too lazy at the moment :)

    386.1 Possible upload issue?

@RMerlin - is there a way to easily tell if the issue is coming form core ASUS codebase or elsewhere?

    386.1 Possible upload issue?

Thanks for the update. I have different SSID for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz and I am definitely seeing the issue on 5Ghz. Only a couple of legacy devices that don't support 5Ghz use 2.4Ghz at my house.

    386.1 Possible upload issue?

Well, I guess it's some good news that others are seeing the issue too so I am not alone. Bad new is I don't know if something can be done with it or if it's on anyones radar to fix. The interesting thing is that if you mostly do web browsing and videos, you may not see the issue as those...

    386.1 Possible upload issue?

I just turned off the aimesh node (the only one I had) and did a few quick tests. The problem seem to have gone away. Also, in the original tests I see on speedtest.net that I also have "loss of packets" between 35-60% The aimesh note is connected via cat 6 ethernet to the main router. This...

    386.1 Possible upload issue?

Single I upgraded to 386.1 (and now 381.1_2) I have noticed a strange upload problem. I am running AX58U as main and RT-AC1750 B1 as mesh node. On any video calls like Whatsapp, facetime, etc the other party has started to say that my video is blurry. I can see their video just fine. When I do a...

2 clients are connecting to RT-AC87U through this device

So weird. I also had the same issue. A few devices including Bose Speaker (only connected using WiFi) was showing "there are 3 devices connected....". As someone suggested I enabled and then disabled IPv6 and that fixed it :). Let's see how soon it comes back.

    Upgrade from AC66U_B1?

Hmm interesting. I have had a ac86u for 3 years with no major issues at all. But I needed something that could be wall mounted so now I have a AX58U still with no issues (don't think I am using any AX features yet) and a couple of RT-AC66U as aimesh nodes.

    Repeater mode and AiMesh

I now have the aimesh nodes hardwired with cat6 to future proof them but previously they were running wireless and there was no noticeable difference. I have 100 mbps up/down from ISP. So, thanks for this as it is important to point it. Even with a 1gbps connection, how many internet...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta is now available

lol. If you connect the router to Alexa (alexa based device such as echo, etc) and then tell the smart speaker "turn on guest wifi" or "turn off guest wifi", it will target the third one.

    Resetting router during upgrade

Unfortunately, I have hundreds too. There are about 50 devices, half of them I don't like the generic dns names so I have changed it to be easily identifiable (figuring out what the device is by it's generic name is a challenge on its own), then I don't run the router on the default gateway ip...

    Resetting router during upgrade

Most router upgrades instruct that resetting the router is either required or strongly encouraged. While I can understand why from a code prospective, I don't want to do this from an end user prospective mainly because there are hundreds of settings that I don't want to type manually again and...

AC-86U and getting WAN IP on restart

Tried that with no luck. I don't think it has much to do with ISP because from router when I manually disable, then enable WAN, it works 100% of the times. Seems like whatever the WAN disable/enable does, needs to happen at the startup.

AC-86U and getting WAN IP on restart

Yeah, presumably IP is assigned by DHCP. "Aggressive" was already selected by default. I could have sworn this used to work (getting an IP instantly on restart) a few versions ago.

AC-86U and getting WAN IP on restart

Merlin 384.16. IPV6 is disabled (was never enabled on this router).
