    Overclocking RT-AC56U

I was able to over clock to 1200,666 using these instructions... Overclocking on Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56_2 (RT-AC68U and RT-N66U)

    Overclocking RT-AC56U

My AC56U is running Merlin's 378.56_2 firmware. I've updated my CFE to 1.0.2.9. No matter what values I place in my init-start script, 1000,666 or 1200,666 or 1400,800, when I reboot my router, it locks up and I have to factory reset it to get it to boot up. On older firmwares, I was able to run...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56 Beta 2 is out

I am still having issues with Adaptive QOS on .56 Beta 2 that I had in .55. When I set my upload and download maximum bandwidths to 150mpbs each, on speedtests, my download speeds are capped to 50mpbs while my upload speeds reaches my ISP theoretical speed of 150mbps. Disabling Adaptive QOS...

    Weird Adaptive QOS Behavior

Not a bad idea. Let me try this when I get home.

    Weird Adaptive QOS Behavior

Thanks for the reply. I have doublechecked, I entered 150MB/s for both upload and download speeds. Still, the issue persists. No big deal, I have it disabled for now.

    Weird Adaptive QOS Behavior

My AC56U is on 378.55 and I notice a peculiar thing with Adaptive QOS. My ISP connection is 150MB/150MB but when the QOS is enabled, my download speed gets capped at 50MB while the upload speed stays at 150MB. Disabling Adaptive QOS allows download speeds to reach back up to 150MB. This is...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Really, REALLY fix setting TCP max connections following a factory reset If we are upgrading from v13.1 to v14, do we need to factory reset to get the TCP Max Connections to read 300000?

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.55 is now available

Updated my AC56U to 378.55, performed a factory reset, overclocked to 1200/800, and not seeing any issues. I have noticed a slight decrease in 5ghz signal strength, but nothing near what I would call a deal breaker. Thanks Merlin.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.54_2 is now available

Running version 378.54_2 on my AC56U. A small annoyance I keep seeing is that enabling Universal Beamforming does not survive a reboot. Whenever the router reboots, it defaults back to Disable. Anyone else notice this behavior?

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.50 Beta 2 is out

Are you able to enable 80mhz channel bandwidth on 5ghz band on the AC56U + Beta 2 DPI build?

    [CLOSED] Asuswrt-Merlin 378.50 Beta 1 is out

Update: Flashing the non-DPI AC56U version fixed my 80mhz on 5ghz issue. It seems my device does not like the AC68 driver.

    [CLOSED] Asuswrt-Merlin 378.50 Beta 1 is out

I have done some more testing on my AC56U, even though all the new 5ghz channels show as available, I'm only able to set the router to 36 or 165. No other channels stick when applied :(

    [CLOSED] Asuswrt-Merlin 378.50 Beta 1 is out

It does not. It shows 20MHz Chanspec: 5GHz channel 165 20MHz (0xd0a5) Primary channel: 165 My settings: Wireless Mode = N/AC Mixed Channel Bandwidth = 80mhz Control Channel = Auto Extension Channel = Auto

    [CLOSED] Asuswrt-Merlin 378.50 Beta 1 is out

AC Mode I'm running the DPI version of the AC56U firmware and for the life of me, I cannot get 80mhz active on the 5ghz network. I have tried all the settings combinations, AUTO, N/AC MIXED, 80MHZ, 20/40/80MHZ. Someone mind posting their successful settings.

    UnderClocking Overheating AC56U

My AC56U is overclocked to 1200mhz and I was a bit worried about heat. So I cut out the back using a Dremel allowing the heat sink to get a bit more air. The router temperature is around 67C with just passive cooling.
