Help needed: After 1 year, 2.4G stop working, 5G works fine (Asus RT-AC68U, TM-1900, Firmware Merlin

I think I figured out a solution to my problem with 2.4GHz on my AP router. Not sure how much it applies to other 2.4GHz issues here, but here it is: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/rt-ac87u-2-4ghz-problem.64153/#post-585064

    RT-AC87U 2.4Ghz problem

I think I found the solution. At least it has been working the past hour and I am able to connect/disconnect consistently. To accomplish this I MANUALLY configured my access point as an access point, instead of using the Access Point mode. (Put in Router Mode and disabled WAN, NAT, DHCP, and...

Help needed: After 1 year, 2.4G stop working, 5G works fine (Asus RT-AC68U, TM-1900, Firmware Merlin

Thanks, but this was already disabled on all frequencies on both router/AP in my installation.

Help needed: After 1 year, 2.4G stop working, 5G works fine (Asus RT-AC68U, TM-1900, Firmware Merlin

Boy oh boy this is a tough one. More and more looking like this is not a hardware or firmware (driver) problem. I'd be interested in your opinion to this point: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/rt-ac87u-2-4ghz-problem.64153/#post-584955

    RT-AC87U 2.4Ghz problem

So far I have: Factory reset and manually reconfigured the AP router (running latest Merlin firmware) - no fix REPLACED hardware with same RT-AC87U, installed latest Merlin, factory reset - no fix Rolled back to Merlin 354.4_2, factory reset - no fix Flashed with latest ASUS stock firmware...

Help needed: After 1 year, 2.4G stop working, 5G works fine (Asus RT-AC68U, TM-1900, Firmware Merlin

Dumb question: Is this clear process the same as pressing the "factory reset" button on the back of the router, and/or doing a factory reset from the firmware? My model is different from yours (RT-AC87U).

Help needed: After 1 year, 2.4G stop working, 5G works fine (Asus RT-AC68U, TM-1900, Firmware Merlin

In my case, I am not or have I ever used the USB ports on the router. Thanks for the info however.

Sorry, not sure I'm clear. (Still a bit of a neophyte.). By WPS reset you're referring to the nvram clear process you described? BTW, I am not using WPS (WiFi Protected Setup) if that is what you're referring to. It is disabled.

Help needed: After 1 year, 2.4G stop working, 5G works fine (Asus RT-AC68U, TM-1900, Firmware Merlin

OK I will look into that. Download from ASUS website? I actually have RT-AC87U. One is my router and both 5 and 2.4 Ghz works well and reliably. I have a 2nd RT-AC87U, configured as an Access Point, that the 5 Mhz works perfectly, but the 2.4 will not. I could try flashing just the AP box...

Well this is frustrating. What type of solution would they not allow you to post? I am having a similar problem (see: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/rt-ac87u-2-4ghz-problem.64153/) and would love to see your solution, even if it turns out not to apply to me.

    RT-AC87U 2.4Ghz problem

OK this one has me stumped. Not that I'm an expert by any stretch... I must be missing something. Situation: I have a one story house built across 2 lots. As such I have a router at one end and an AP at the other. For years I had a Linksys (forgot the model) at each point, probably even a...

Please Help! RT-AC68U wifi can't connect

I had the same problem described here. Had a 2nd RT-AC87U set up as an AP for months working fine and then 2.4Gz quick connecting. It got to the point that I suspected my 2.4Ghz radio was going out, until I got an analyzer and saw it was still there. Tried all sorts of stuff, short of a...

    Guest logins accessing intranet

Hmm. I will have to check to see if any difference between 2.4 or 5. Is it thought that one guest access is broken and one not? Currently I do NOT have AP islolation set to on. However, that would only prevent access between Wifi clients right? And not wired network devices once someone...
