    I was on ASUS RT-N56U Firmware version 1.0.1.7f (2011/11/21) but it had been running without any crashes before that as well. I upgraded to ASUS RT-N56U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.342 (2013/02/08) and was very impressed with the new GUI and options, even though I don't plan on using any of them...
