    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.58 is now available

Upgraded from 380.57 to 380.58 and it went more smoothly. Had issues with 380.57 seeing the modem after a reboot (it required a modem reboot) and did not have the issue with this version. Really like the disable hourly network scan feature, I was getting tired of the NAS and printer being on...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.57 is now available

I flashed 380.57 on an RT-AC68P (H/W Ver B1 on the box) and did a hard reset and the router is working fine. I did some wireless testing and anecdotally it appears that the 5GHz radio is providing better speed than it did before at a long distance and 2.4GHz appears to not be performing as well...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.56_2 is now available

I got the same error hardwired to the router, using Chrome and after downloading the firmware from more than one location. I rebooted the router and the upload worked. I've had no issues with this version or 378.56_0.

Yes, I installed it and did a full router reset, seems to be working fine. Getting hard wired and 2.4/5.0 GHz Wi-Fi speedtest.net speeds on laptop of 120Mbps.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 374.39 is out

.2239 Has anyone tested the Wi-Fi on 2.4GHz and 5GHz on this firmware and compared it to Asus version .2239?

    ASUS RT-N66U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.374.2239

I was curious; I thought perhaps IPv6 was causing connectivity problems for you that may also apply to me. I didn't endorse anything being broken.

What are you using IPv6 for?

    ASUS RT-N66U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.374.2239

That's what I'll do from now on. Comcast is my ISP... I figured that was the cause, but I didn't have that issue before or with my old Linksys router.

    ASUS RT-N66U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.374.2239

Today I had the same problem. I usually boot up the modem THEN the router. So when the router showed it was disconnected today after rebooting both modem and router, I left the router on and rebooted the modem again. After that the router connected fine.

    ASUS RT-N66U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.374.2239

Yes, exact same configuration including channel and channel bandwidth. This was only something I noticed on newer iOS devices... laptops get the max speedtest ISP speed no matter what location I test from. I'm seeing the same thing today, iOS speedtests come back better in the location that...

    ASUS RT-N66U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.374.2239

Did some more testing... .2239 on 5GHz seems to play nicer than -em with iOS devices... speedtest.net tests get up to top speed faster and max out more frquently. -em had some frequent super low test results. .2239 Seems to be more consistent with iOS. -em definately has better range though.

    ASUS RT-N66U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.374.2239

I left the router running for a couple hours then rebooted and it worked fine. Not sure what the issue was. I'm just in the habit of using the same cloned Mac. I did find it interesting that the router would grab a Mac from another device if the Mac didn't work or if the field was blanked out.

    ASUS RT-N66U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.374.2239

One problem... I get the router working great but if I reboot the router it doesn't reconnect to the modem. I use a cloned MAC address... I get the feeling that when I reboot the router the MAC that is presented to the Modem changes and the connection can't be made. The only way I can get the...

    ASUS RT-N66U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.374.2239

bluepoint, I tested both .2239 and 3.0.0.4_374.38_2-em today and got results similar to yours. I uploaded the firmware, did a hard reset on the router and had all clients "forget" the SSID. I used "NetSpot" to measure signal strength. I found the -em signal to be better than .2239. 40 feet...

    ASUS RT-N66U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.374.2239

I use iStumbler to survey and I did that already... there are three SSID's on Channel 1, five SSID's on channel 6 and two on channel 11. I tried channel 2 and extended above... is that a good idea? Is it best to leave channel width at 20/40MHz or force 40MHz?
