ASUS RT-AC3100 Merlin Port Forwarding Issue

Have you tried port scanning from inside your LAN?

You're completely right, I had made a custom config to add a block hosts file before setting up VPN. This was the root of the problem. Thank you very much for your help @RMerlin

    OpenVPN

I haven't tried using TCP, this is just the default server that I'm trying to get to work, was going to tweak after the server once I get everything working. I suppose I could try it tonight. If it works I'll be sure to post here. I'm just using my own script to adblock, downloads from various...

While connected to VPN; Pinging my address and the routers address on the 10.x.x.x and 192.168.x.x works. Pinging 1.1.1.1 works. Nslookup using the router ip address (either 10.x.x.x and using 192.168.x.x) does not work, "DNS request timed out; timeout was 2 seconds.". (nslookup google.com...

    OpenVPN

It doesn't seem to be a firewall or a routing issue, the VPN clients can ping the router on both 10.16.0.1 and the 192.168.x.x network. Pinging 1.1.1.1 works, while connected to VPN. When I try to access a website, the site does not load. When I try accessing an ip address on the browser...

My settings are not on "Internet-Only" but on "Both". I remember on my previous router I had set it to Internet-Only and therefore could not access the local DNS so I set it to "Both" for it to work. On this router that doesn't seem to be working, neither "Internet-Only" or "Both" seem to give...

Thank you for the reply RMerlin! By default if I don't advertise DNS it uses 8.8.8.8 and works fine on the clients. I tried pushing 1.1.1.1 and that works aswell. It only seems to not work when advertising my local DNS on the router, which I kind of want to do because of the block list file.

Is Merlin himself the only one who has enough knowledge on Asuswrt systems to figure it out?

    OpenVPN

I started out with basic config, server 1 and server 2, the only difference between them is one advertises DNS and the other doesn't. In both cases clients can connect but the client that get's the local DNS can't surf the internet

I'm having trouble with OpenVPN server on my new router. I was using AC68U before and had a OpenVPN server running on it. At first I couldn't understand why the internet wasn't working on clients when advertising local DNS to them until I figured I had to set client access to BOTH instead of...

    AiMesh

I noticed that for some reason the "Enable Radio" is off in the webui for both bands. Pretty sure they were on when I added the slave node to AiMesh. Is it suppose to be off, did the AiMesh setup turn it off for some reason? Edit; seems to have fixed the problem by enabling the radio.

    AiMesh

Having some trouble with AiMesh, it seems that clients only connect to the slave node. Even my TV, which is located literally next to the master router, connects to the slave node (with 2/4 bars signal strength (according to client list in the webui). Using up to date RMerlin firmware versions...
