    Asus AIMesh Guest network issues

Sorry to hear it’s not working for you. FWIW, I have: RT-AC1750 B1 on Merlin 386.7_2 AC68U firmware as AiMesh router RT-AC66U B1 on Stock 386_49703 as AiMesh node with wired backhaul Guest is set up very much like yours, 5 GHz only. Access Intranet is set to disable. Guest network is working...

    Asus AIMesh Guest network issues

My current configuration is also not experiencing any issues. Asus RT-AC1750 B1 on Merlin 386.5_2 AC68U (AiMesh router) Asus RT-AC66U B1 on Stock 386_48262 (AiMesh node) Guest 1, wired backhaul, intranet access disabled

Great to hear that Merlin is working on both main and node.

    Asus AIMesh Guest network issues

That’s too bad - I was about to go from Merlin 386.4 to 386.5 on my main AiMesh with a node running stock FW. However I’m still on AC models and not AX. Is anyone else losing guest network functionality with 386.5?

    Asus AIMesh Guest network issues

Asus rolled stock FW 386.46065 on RT-AC68U. Interesting change list item: Since this is on stock FW which works as the node, I haven’t tested what this is.

    Asus AIMesh Guest network issues

For the LAN (not guest) I’m not using 192.168.50.x, but I’m using the 10.x.x.x range. And I have no issues with the guest network.

    Asus AIMesh Guest network issues

Merlin 386.4 is using GPL 386_45958, so that should be close enough for it to work. I’ve been using it this way with my node running stock FW since OEM 43129.

From the wiki itself: I guess now there are two limitations. https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.ng/wiki/AiMesh

You only need Asus FW on the node, not the router. I haven’t come up with a really good reason to need Merlin FW on the node, except maybe to schedule the node LED lights in a bedroom, which is better than the all or nothing toggle in the AiMesh menu. But there are mechanical solutions to dim...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.4 is now available

FWIW - My own experience with 386.4 on RT-AC1750 B1 (same as RT-AC66U B1) using the AC68U FW has been rock solid with a mix of g, n and ac clients on both bands. It’s an AiMesh router with a AiMesh node (RT-AC66U B1) running stock FW. I manually pick my channels with 20 Hz and 80 Hz widths in...

    Asus AIMesh Guest network issues

I used to manually set up a tagged VLAN as a guest network with this same unmanaged switched. It would work for a while, but sporadically it wouldn’t (couldn’t get a guest IP), and I always thought maybe it was because of the cheap consumer switch. But then I bypassed the switch and still had...

vnStat [Release] vnStat-on-Merlin - UI, CLI and email - data use and data limit monitoring - R1 and R2

Testing my setup again, but now on Merlin 386.4 and measuring eth0 with vnstat 2.0.4. It started out fairly promising, but over a period of time the rx and tx started to converge. Very bizarre. I’ll keep experimenting but I may have to switch to monitoring vlan1.
