First I know there is better options out there but I like the drobo product.
I have a Drobo 5n that works really well for me, I use it mostly to house all my media. A mac mini acts as a plex server and I use some Rokus to steam the media and this has worked flawlessly. I also use it as a...

I just wanted to chime in. I had 2 AC87s and the 5GHz would drop out on both. I had a period in my password and maybe thats what the issue was. I have since moved to some R8000s but would have kept the Asus if it worked.
Thanks for you help guys. I didn't past the log because it was over the limit. In the GUI the 5GHz radio said not ready.
I have already jumped ship to 2 R8000s so far so good, however the antennas feel very cheap.
Tried the above but the problem is still there. The only thing I can think if is the router is in a cabinet and could be over heating. I had the R7000 and the WRT1900 in there for months without issues.
Is there a way I can post the log?
Just an update.
I updated to the latest merlin build and manually re-entered all my settings. I also swapped the routers and I still lose connectivity to the web. My connection to the router is actually fine but I cannot open a webpage until I restart the router.
Any insight of some...
Tonight my friend and I spent a couple hours trying to setup OpenVPN we did it using the Tomato openvpn guide as suggested by Merilin and we used the export a file in the router. Both results were different I actually saw his computer on my network when using the tomato guide.

I recently purchased 2 Asus AC87s one set up as a router the other setup as and AP. I use 2 to get adequate 5GHz coverage and typically Im connected to the AP on 5GHz however it always locks up and the only fix is to power cycle. My question is, is this a known issue or do I have a bad unit...
Thanks I just reset the bridge to update it.
I don't imagine much of anything changed but one would guess if they took the time to push the update they must have fixed something.
When will their support site be update with the recent firmware?
I'm using two WRT1900s and the one I'm using as a bridge won't auto download through the GUI.
I had 2 netgear nighthawks one set up as a router the other set up as an AP. The Netgear was too buggy with my SONOS and Rokus so I picked up 2 Linksys routers. The netgear was easy to set up as an access point can this be done with the new linksys WRT1900AC?
Looking for some guidance.
Interested in the same answer.
I just bought 2 because I can't get 5ghz throughout the whole house. I have one set up as an AP but I ended up disabling 2.4ghz on one as it was causing my Nest to disconnect. Other then that I did several unofficial benchmarks and the nighthawk out performs...
