Most, if not all legacy firmwares are retrievable from the Internet Archive.
This page below, from July 2024, lists 8 releases including the very first one (3.0.0.4.388.31374 from 05/01/2023, your current version) and up to 3.0.0.4.388_33405 (28/05/2024). Then the current Asus website hosts FWs...
Hi and thank you for your feedback.
The latest stable version that has been recommended over here (but without extensive testing) is TUF-AX6000_3.0.0.4_388_33427-gc525e4e.
Any specific reason why you chose 3.0.0.4.388_31374-g617d05c and/or how did you choose that specific version?
Glad you...
It DOES seem to be related to the Mediatek wireless driver/firmware v7.6.7.2 between build 20231228 and build 20240823 according to @asal
I guess there is no way to unpack the ASUS FW package or get the source code, and build a new version with the latest driver, plus it may very well break...
I would recommend a HARD factory reset (apparently resets more settings), as described here: https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1039078/
I have no issues with IPV6 disabled. Actually I was not able to replicate the issue because I had disabled IPV6 support when manually configuring all settings...
Same, I only have issues when not using a VPN tunnel.
Have you tried a hard factory reboot, then configuring everything again manually? (not uploadig a saved settings file).
Also, can you confirm the issues only appear over WLAN (WiFi) and not over LAN?
Hi @Unhappy ASUS user, I believe @JohnKKKKK is reffering to all Mediatek-based Asus routers, they share a common or similar chipset, provided by Mediatek. You on the other hand seem to be talking about all your CLIENTS being affected, regardless of their processor/architecture. :)
Well, barely 1,5 hours after enabling IPV6 again, I can totally confirm the page/image loading issues are back!
The issue is not present when I enable my VPN tunnel that does NOT support IPV6.
It makes sense now, the issue really is with how the router handles IPV6 over WLAN.
You nailed it...
I enabled IPV6 again to check. I rebooted the router, so it may take a while before I experience issues.
@JohnKKKKK, do you know when the Chinese community found out the issue to be related to IPV6? Did they notify Asus?
By any chance, could you link to a Chinese forum or source, please?
Thanks!
I disabled IPV6 entirely not that long ago because one of my VPN connections cannot handle it anyway. It could very well be when I did the hard factory reset and had to enter all settings manually again.
This could explain how I never experienced the issue while connected to a VPN (when I did...
Another 14 days of uptime and I cannot seem to be able to reproduce the page loading issues.
I would recommend performing a hard factory reset as described here: https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1039078/ then inputting all settings manually again, which I did, as recommended by Asus, when...
Not sure I understand your question...
I have FTTH fiber, that goes into the ONT, and the ONT is connected straight to the Asus router (I replaced my ISP's router with the Asus router). PPPoE connection.
I cannot see how it can relate to the type of WAN connection anyway.
The issues only...
Thanks! I am not getting this error at all with the latest FW.
One error I am geeting several times a day is this one:
