The AX86U hasn't got much more life left in terms of security updates and firmware bug fixes. You probably would have been better to get BE86U or some other current new model. Most wifi issues (read: not all), are caused by incorrect settings under the "professional" tab of Asus WRT.

Yes where version numbers are similar. An older build wouldn't be same as newer Merlin one.

Speak for yourself. As soon as they dumb down settings I am off to another vendor. I don't want some dumbed down offering. Don't understand the settings, or want to read up on them first? Then get another router that is dumbed down would be my advice. There may be an argument to limit settings...

All good on RT-AX86U. The Client Status Network Map fix works in this release, but didn't in Alpha 1. Plugins like Diversion and Merlin AU update and LCD status all worked fine. Thanks Merlin.
