    Zyxel PLA5456KIT - any feedback

I bit. Powerline performance obviously varies wildly from home to home (even outlet to outlet), but I saw a noticeable improvement at the worst of our powerline locations vs. Netgear PL1200's. This could be because I moved a powerstrip from the other outlet to the 5456's passthrough outlet. Or...

    AV2 1200 powerline products

http://www.zyxel.com/us/en/support/DownloadLandingSR.shtml?c=us&l=en&kbid=M-02093&md=PLA5405#searchZyxelTab4 Software download is at the top. I don't know if there's new firmware for 5405 in that version. A previous version (July release date) changed the firmware version on my adapters. Will...

    AV2 1200 powerline products

ZyXEL released a firmware update for the PLA5405. I should have done an apples to apples comparison by speed testing before I updated, but I wasn't smart. Compared to when I first bought and installed the 5405's last year there's a noticeable improvement in speed and connection quality, but that...

    AV2 1200 powerline products

Am I missing any of the announced MIMO products for the US market? Netgear PL1200 -- Q1 Availability, $79.99 MSRP Netgear PLP1200 -- Q1 Availability, $89.99 MSRP, passthrough outlet TP Link TL-PA8030 -- Q3 Availability, no pricing information TP Link TL-PA8030P -- Q3 Availability, no pricing...

ZyXEL PLA5405 1200 Mbps Powerline Gigabit Ethernet Adapter Reviewed

Substantial reduction, but they also saw some measurable MIMO benefit. ~40Mbps faster than an AV2 5/600 adapter

ZyXEL PLA5405 1200 Mbps Powerline Gigabit Ethernet Adapter Reviewed

Thanks for the 5405 review. Really disappointing result. Wonder why the Devolo is testing reasonably well (relatively speaking) and the ZyXel shows no meaningful improvement over AV2/600 products. I'd been hoping for something that equaled Ethernet 100 going between a couple floors that are too...

ZyXEL PLA5405 1200 Mbps Powerline Gigabit Ethernet Adapter Reviewed

That's an impressive improvement. As an aside -- Love that the first/only review on NewEgg complains that they don't reach anywhere near their rates "1200" speed. I suspect that'll be a common complaint about the 1000/1200/1800 units. The manufacturers have put themselves in a bad position...

ZyXEL PLA5405 1200 Mbps Powerline Gigabit Ethernet Adapter Reviewed

Reviews of the Devolo EU units suggest a 20-25% increase in throughput relative to AV2 500/600 in real world usage. That's enough to interest me, although the price premium for these "exclusive" units is a bit steep.

HomePlug AV2 availability in the UK?

Those are probably based on the same chipset as the ZyXel 1000's that are on the market in the U.S. and were recently reviewed by SNB. MIMO was supposed to hit the market in September. Let's hope we see some units in the channel at the end of the month :-(

    ZyXEL PLA5206 AV2 1000

WiFi is half duplex. Router radios can only cycle through one client at a time, and they can only send of receive. Wired networks (inc. powerline) tend to be full duplex -- they send and receive at the same time -- and they don't have to time-slice multiple clients. A router or switch sends...

My Cloud Mirror connection to a AC87R

Ethernet. You want it to have an IP so computers and devices on your network can reach it. That said, you may want to return the Mirror. I got some MyBook Live Duo 4TB's when they were on clearance at Staples ($40) and the performance and features were so bad that I ended up cannibalizing the...

    ZyXEL PLA5206 AV2 1000

Powerline is still going to be better than even a very strong AC signal for some use cases -- console gaming, streaming video from a NAS or home server to a wireless device, etc. Can you point to the Devolo 1200 review? I'm not getting a Google hit for a real review, just product pages. There...

    ZyXEL PLA5206 AV2 1000

Just disappointment! I didn't think the slightly wider bandwidth would result in 2x the real world performance of AV2/500 kits, but I was definitely surprised to see the "1000" fall behind on ideal condition downlink. Hope the MIMO products show a real performance improvement.

Electrician made changes, and powerline suddenly drops to near useless

Did he install GFCI outlets? I ask because you mention work in the kitchen, and they're required by code in kitchens in bathrooms pretty much everywhere now. GFCI and powerline adapters do not play nicely together.

    ZyXEL PLA5206 AV2 1000

In stock now and labeled as a "NewEgg Exclusive." I'd be willing to drop the $130 to compare them to my TrendNet AV2/500's if they were MIMO. I've no doubt the wider SISO adapters will be faster than the first wave of AV2's, but I'm much more interested in seeing if MIMO can improve...
