    Ok, after further testing, I found that I can assign a "name" to a MAC address and have that be a static IP, however, the hosts still cannot resolve the "name" to the IP. There must be a missing step somewhere.

    I do access by IP, I dont have dns server for home. I have not tried a VM with a fresh CentOS install. That should give me a clean browser.
