Another "I found this interesting so putting it in the public domain" thread for old RT-AC routers...
There is no application for this information. Its just "huh, interesting" (get ready cranky-grandpas - this might be too long and boring to read! 😄 )
The RT-AC3200 I just deployed as a Media...
GREAT. Maybe NOT REPLYING TO THREADS YOU ADMIT YOU REFUSE TO READ should become a habit with you.
IF you did read the post you'd see its not actually declaring it won't work. In fact it starts out saying yeah it works.
Its just about 1. confirming this old 'bug' with auto-IP and the router...
Well. If you weren't so lazy you would've read that I've solved my problem and guess what it DOES involve using ASUS media bridge, just on another model, and this purpose of this thread is only to give people with this specific hardwarea heads up, Since this definite hardware specific bug...
Oh man. If you can’t be bothered to read the actual post then don’t bother replying. Just ignore it if you’re too lazy or not intelligent enough to be able to read several paragraphs of text. It makes no sense to pretend to give an answer to something when you haven’t even read the details.
On this thread also? I used no color at all on this one. The only text formatting I used was italics.
OK weird. Yeah there's embedded color tags in there in weird spots. I did NOT put those in. Maybe editor put those in from a cut & paste? But I've never picked white or gray as a color so...
I didn't tag anything white/gray I only tagged red or green text but maybe when those colors are used it adds tags for rest of text? I'll just remove all color...
Second 'obsolete router notes' post of the day for me. This one even smaller crowd of potential interested audience.... but for " the benefit of others stuck in "have to repurpose some old stuff for some reason" mode.... Because of reasons I was working through my piles of old ASUS routers to...
Today is 'obsolete router notes' day for me this is the first one. This is an "FYI uninteresting for .01% of the population" for this old gear, but I had trouble determining what the current situation was for some of this old junk so I am posting for the benefit of others stuck in "have to...
My Max doesn't run very hot at all so you may have bad info there, informally it seems to be just about the same as my Fiber, despite an older slower micro. Admittedly its fairly light traffic/loading but thats true of both sites "most of the time". I have IPS and Traffic Logging on, but no...
Mostly Tech9 has said it all but stumbled on this thread today so, few extra cents of thoughts:
The one thing about the product line and ecosystem is that for any small site you usually have several config options that can all make sense depending on your needs and physical layout.
I am...
AX68U update from 388.8_4. No issues.
Only notable thing was the "Firmware Upgrade" button didn't work, neither from the admin page or from the 'shortcut' link from the top banner. Browser would just hang at "Firmware Downloading". Didn't investigate too far (didn't try different browser for...
Nothing unusual - just some of the most 'usual' amtm add-ons.
However because uiDivStats had the "opposite" type of problem (WebGUI page looks good but a bug with the CLI), @Martinski pointed out I probably have issues with Entware utility versions being picked up due to PATH issues and yep...
Yep that must be it. For sure am getting the Entware versions.
