I was surprisingly happy they offered it after putting me in for a replacement. I thought I was going to have to wait a long time, or like you, get offered a substitute. I think I just timed it right and maybe they had new info that it was a bigger problem than when you sent yours in...

Here’s my update as well. After a couple of days sending my unit back to asus repair, they put me in for a replacement unit. After a couple of weeks on the replacement list, I called for a status update and was told there’s no units available yet. Waited a little longer and received a call from...

it's possible, but I tried many cat6, and cat7 cables and they were all doing it. How long have you switched cables? I'd like to see if the reboot comes back after a little while. Like I said earlier, I thought my usb drive was the cause of my reboot. It was good for a short time after...

I thought My external hard drive was causing my reboot issues, and it may have been a few times, but that wasn't the real issue. Maybe a coincidence, or maybe the router caused the hard drive (or desktop in your case) to be an issue. Obviously my real issue is with the router because my RMA...

They've yet to contact me about the replacement. Hopefully it's because it's a direct replacement of the 89x? we'll see. I got the dream machine pro, flex AP, nanoHD AP, and 4 8 port switches around the house. (I wish I had been able to run all cat6 cable to one spot in the house, but that...

but in more supply. Who would pay close to that from me, when they can buy it from amazon with 60 days to return? Plus Ebay fees etc. Will wait and see what their plans are before I speculate more....

So, I just got an email this morning saying "we are unable to complete the repair of your RMA and will be reaching out to you shortly to confirm the replacement of your unit". Now I'll wait to see if they'll replace with new unit, refurbished unit, or something totally different like starrbuck...

did you ask for a refund? Was there a choice? I just put in for an RMA. Will be sending mine in as soon as I get the email instructions. I would rather get refund at this point Since I already replaced with a ubiquity network cause of all the reboots.

Thank you Synomenon!! I unmounted both external hard drives and instantly no errors or high CPU core usage. I had tunnel vision of it being my 2TB TiVo because of that storage and the fact that I just got it 2 weeks ago and started having problems this past week. So now I'll play with the...

you know what? all day I've been thinking its my TiVo hard drive but now that you say storage device, maybe its one of my 2 external drives causing the issue? I'll unplug both of them for a few days and see if that helps. Wondering why either of them would be a problem after a few months...

well, it's been stable so far today but I just turned on my TiVo for Fios and my CPU cores are jumping all over the place. I'm assuming the router will reboot soon. Maybe overheating? Why would TiVo cause such a problem? any help would be appreciated.

yes. Updated in July. yesterday I did notice my CPU cores were fluctuating back and forth to 100%. And the 89x rebooted about 4x in a row at that time. I’ll have to see today if it happens again what the cores are running at.
