ASUS RT-BE92U price drop – Stability issues still a concern?

Not sure why you feel that I am insisting to try that particular router, but point taken and very much valid.. I was initially intrigued enough to read up about it, and speculate to take advantage of buying a refurb for 120 UK pounds including delivery etc. Principally it might have been useful...

ASUS RT-BE92U price drop – Stability issues still a concern?

I live in the UK and had a chance of buying a couple of the BE92U routers through Amazon, Germany. They had a great price and then 20% off for the Warehouse deals. I deliberated a lot, to the point of the offer ending. But, I just could not pull the trigger on returns to Amazon Germany, if...

    BE92u/AX92u in mesh

Good to know, it seems that using a ethernet backhaul worked well for you. I do get an impression that the most recent firmware has, hopefully, resolved a lot of the issues that first plagued that router. On paper, for the cost, it does seem to offer a lot.

    BE92u/AX92u in mesh

Did you keep the router and has the BE92U continued to be problematic for you..? On paper it seems so good, I had hoped the firmware would have resolved many of the issues noted..?

ASUS RT-BE92U price drop – Stability issues still a concern?

That is sad, especially as I had thought that much of the stability concerns had been addressed in firmware updates..? Assuming from what you have written you did not find that..? did you end up refunding it, if so what did you then go for..?

What to replace a flaky RT-AX68U with (EU)?

Thanks It was those that I was considering, not necessarily the Flint 3 though. They seem to have not included Mesh, that could have been useful. Understanding that the Flint 2 also has greater VPN client potential, if important. For the cost, they seem very decent. TP Link might also have...

What to replace a flaky RT-AX68U with (EU)?

Oh my, didn't realise that it was that bad. Then again, personal thoughts, the Asus range of routers that I see currently do not seem to offer great value for money. In the end, it depends on your needs I suppose. At some point my AX88U might well need to be replaced as the primary router due...

AX88U and improvements for Wireguard VPN.....

Yes, I know. I replied directly after you posted and commented on that :) I find it useful to note that on your setup, using the Pro version, that you can get such a good improvement over what I am able to do with the non pro. Both using a quad core 2Ghz processor, but that does not mean they...

AX88U and improvements for Wireguard VPN.....

Is that with a maxed out 500Mb connection or are you limited any other way..? I'm hopeful that the BE88U will be more capable than maxing out a 500Mb connection, noting that @CaptainSTX can get around 600Mb on a AX88U, the previous "gen" router. The VPN servers I use are as clsoe to my location...

AX88U and improvements for Wireguard VPN.....

Thanks, good to know. I see the BE88U increases the speed, not sure of the type or revision changes, if any, of the CPU from 2Ghz to 2.6Ghz. Not sure if it improved the VPN client capabilities in what its sustained capable download would be, over that of the AX88UPro. Then again, albeit I am...

AX88U and improvements for Wireguard VPN.....

Hi My AX88U continues to serve me well, except when being used as a VPN client.... Now that we have moved to a FTTP connection, full fibre, and have started with a 500Mb connection it is proving too much to expect the venerable, but good, router to be able to cope when used as a VPN client...

    Proper PPPoE Setup on Merlin?

Thanks to you both. Someone needs to tell PN then as this morning they told me there would be authentication issues unless the VLAN items noted here were applied... https://www.plus.net/help/broadband/broadband-connection-settings/ specifically.... I'll just ignore that. They linked me to...

    Proper PPPoE Setup on Merlin?

Sorry for jumping in on this thread, seems relevant. My FTTC connection will change shortly as an engineer will visit our property to change it to a FTTP type of connection. These are the settings I'm told that need to apply... Broadband username or login name yourusername @plusdsl.net...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

After having some issues with previous updates this method works for me..... Backup the settings and JFFS partition. When on 384.19 I had IPv6 disabled. My VPN client was manually created with IPv4 only. All worked fine with policy based routing, no issues at all. To successfully go to 386 type...
