I also had to do a factory reset recently since we intermittently lost Internet connection. I first restored it from a back up, but then the problem came back. Another factory reset and configure from scratch solved it. It has now been stable for two weeks.
I hav like two freezes a year when not rebooting. Since I use it off site it takes med all day to go there to manually reboot it, so I have to find a reliable solution.
With autoreboot enabled the Internet is always up, but with the downside that the router and devices on lan is not reachable...
I'm afraid not, since:
Building 1: Aimech router, Managed POE Switch
Building 2: Mangaed POE Switch, POE IP Cam (for alarm system)
Building 3: Aimech node
All buildings connected by single Cat 5.
If I had another Cat 5 between building 1 & 2, I could separate the traffic as suggested.
The...
I use a Zyxel GS1900 together with a Asus aimech system as well, and this switch cause dropouts on the LAN. Really annoying, it seems that I need to buy another POE-switch to get rid of the problems.
The switch is configured to be completely passive.
Yes, dumb switches are working, I used it before with the older firmwares when this problem had so long and many network interruptions that it was unusable with the managed switches.
I need the PoE feature, that's why I'm using those Zyxel and Netgear switches.
Never worked with this switches, regardless firmware version. After updating both switches and routers to latest stable firmware, it's usable, even if a small piece of the problem still persists.
Switches are Zyxel GS1900-8HP and Netgear GS105PE. Using them in passive mode, default settings...
Still have issues using a switches on the LAN used as backaul. This is intermittent, there is short brakes in the network traffic. Annoying when watching IP-tv.
Any news about this issue?
I'm using AC-86U, bur it's exactly the same behaviour.
Still on RC2-6 since a few weeks, works very well. The only things I've noticed is:
# Sometimes slow or interrupted network connection, re-connect client to WiFi solves it.
# Less coverage area of WiFi signal.
I will update to RC2-7 and see if any advantages.
