Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24768 (2025/10/20)

Same here - loaded firmware 24768 on 6 XT8 V1s in access point mode. Dirty upgrades without problems. Tested all 6 on my network, all seem stable with no complaints from my spouse (my most exacting WiFi critic) :)

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24753 (2025/08/04)

A little late to the party, but I just updated my XT8s to firmware 3.0.0.4.388_24753. I have 3 XT8 V1s, 2 used in access point mode with the 3rd being a spare. One hardwired by Ethernet, one hardwired by MoCA. Dirty upgrade on all units from online, no issues. One pleasant surprise is that the...

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24709 (2025/03/18)

Okay - figured out my problem on the XT8 with static IP issue. My router had reserved an IP for the unit different from the static IP I was trying to set, probably not allowing DNS to start on the XT8. Once I removed the XT8 reserved address from the router the XT8's static IP/DNS allowed the...

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24709 (2025/03/18)

One of my XT8 V1 in access point mode had the same issue after the firmware update - it could not connect to the ASUS server. Checking the system time, it was incorrect by over 2 years (something like December 31, 2023). Any timezone selected would throw up a message that the timezone was...

Release ASUS ZenWiFi XT8 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_24709 (2025/03/18)

I have 2 XT8s V1 in AP mode - one of them has updated to 3.0.0.4.388_24709. Spouse usually connects to the updated AP during the day. So far, no complaints (she still uses Nexus 7 2013 tablets which can be finicky with slowdowns/lockups). If we go a few days without any weird issues I'll update...

New MoCA 2.5 setup. Long run, many outlets & TV's etc.

This diplexer seems to be discontinued. Have you seen any other MoCA diplexers available with the band splitting as above? Need these as my favorite MoCA adapter is no longer in production (Motorola MM1025)...

DS218J with WD Red Plus drive temperature

I have the same Synology DS218J NAS using 8TB WD Red Plus drives, and had the same problem with one drive having a higher temp.. All I did was take the hotter drive and moved it to the Drive 1 position where it got better cooling (compared to Drive 2 position). Much closer in temp now...

    Recommend MoCA 2.5 4-port Splitter ?

For a 4-way MoCA splitter, the usual recommendation was the Holland Electronics MoCA GHS-4PRO-M. However, the Amphenol 4-Way Digital Coaxial Splitter MoCA 2.0 ABS314H is essentially the same, as they bought out Holland... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08CRR5MPJ/?tag=snbforums-20 Don't forget to...

    Multi Port 2.5Gbe Switch

Were you using Intel X550-based network cards when you found that that TP-Link 2.5Gbe switches wouldn't auto-negotiate? If so, did they auto-negotiate properly to 2.5Gbe using the QSW-1105? I'm curious because I have a Trendnet TEG-S762 that won't auto-negotiate with my X550 cards on the 2.5Gbe...

Discussion about MoCA 2.5 adapter with 2.5GbE Ethernet port

Coaxial cable has an inner and outer core that share a geometric axis, compared to Ethernet cable which has 8 separate lines for data transmission. Ethernet cable can do full duplex because it can send transmit and receive data simultaneously using different lines. Because coax has only one...

X550-T1 NICs on Amazon - any good?

Lately, I've seen several X550-T1 network cards on Amazon from multiple Asian sellers listed for around $60. I've also seen on eBay what looks like Intel OEM cards (also from Asia) that include Intel-labeled driver cds for around $150, but if the $60 would work OK, it seems a no-brainer to buy...

Thinking about switching to MoCA 2.5

Not sure if this helps, but Frontier router logins often simply use "admin" for the user and "admin", "password" or "password1" for the password . A long shot, but you could also try Frontier Support at Frontier.com/install-fiber-optic Live Chat or call their support number (1. 800.239.4430)
