ASUS AX88U causes problems for others using internet if one device continuously do a 100G file txr

@degrub, may I understand for AX11000 where the WAN is 2.5G, by using the internet speed testing, I can get 2Gbps both download/upload. However, if I turn on FlexQoS, the internet speed testing drop down again to 500mbps or so. This is the case for AX88U where the WAN is 1G too. Are you saying...

ASUS AX88U causes problems for others using internet if one device continuously do a 100G file txr

Thank you @Tech9. Infact I already raised this to ISP. They havent get back to me yet. I've updated my message above to make it more clear. Thank you guys for the help. The reason I introduce new hardware is because my ISP said that they provide customer with a default router and if I'm not...

ASUS AX88U causes problems for others using internet if one device continuously do a 100G file txr

I summarize what I've found. Brothers, please see anything wrong, correct me. 1. I started with AX88U. WAN=1Gbps, all ports are 1Gbps each. 2. Merlin QOS only shape traffic at the WAN side. ISP dont care about priority tag. QoS only let the router to decide who to send out to the WAN first. 3...

ASUS AX88U causes problems for others using internet if one device continuously do a 100G file txr

Hi @Tech9, The AX86U PRO has the 2.5Gbps ethernet. My Optical modem from Telco/ISP is 10G. My subscribed plan is 3Gbps. Are you saying if I use the AX86U PRO, it will still the same ? All the feedback and testing in this thread been using AX88U (WAN is 1Gbps only) connecting to a 10G optical...

ASUS AX88U causes problems for others using internet if one device continuously do a 100G file txr

I am using AX88U, Adaptive QoS. It cannot solve bufferbloat issue. Bufferbloat will come in when there is one user doing a big download. If you download 100M filesize, it dont cause problem. Problem come when it is 100G file. It will cause VoIP, Gaming, Whatsapp come to a standstill ...

ASUS AX88U causes problems for others using internet if one device continuously do a 100G file txr

Ok noted. Temporary, I am removing this ASUS AX88U Router and replace with TPLink to try. At least when doing the bufferbloat test using TPLink router, it gives me a C grade. Using ASUS... it is giving me a D or F grade :(

ASUS AX88U causes problems for others using internet if one device continuously do a 100G file txr

Thank you Rung but I am afraid I dont know how to setup such. Do you have a reference page or discussion topic which I can refer to? Also, FlexQOS is behaving like CAKE. If you use FlexQOS, it cut your internet speed by 50%. This is speedtest by using ASUS build-in test when FlexQOS is disabled...

ASUS AX88U causes problems for others using internet if one device continuously do a 100G file txr

WifiRouterA is AX88U in wireless router mode. It connect via ethernet 1gbps cable to my AX88U in router mode (wifi off). The flexQOS is setup here before it goes to optical modem which is in bridge mode. It is weird that my download speed for flexQOS setup to be 600mbps. When bufferbloat happen...

ASUS AX88U causes problems for others using internet if one device continuously do a 100G file txr

Some update. I still suffer bufferbloat . I do not understand why it can happen intermittently. WifiRouterA connect to AX88U router. AX88U is setup to have flexQOS. When devices connected to WifiRouterA start to download big files (split into chunks for download), I can see from FlexQOS it is...

    FlexQoS FlexQoS on Gaming

@Kingp1n , so far nothing wrong happen but probably haven’t seen that user doing a high download yet. By the way, the setting I’m having will it auto disable NAT acceleration or I must manually disable it? Or because I’m using flexQOS, it don’t need to disable unlike traditional QoS/cake...
