Yet another malware block script using ipset (v4 and v6)

Thank you. I'm new at this, and at using vi (Nano keeps giving an error). Will work on 2 though 5. For now, I'll reboot the router before going to sites that shouldn't be blocked, then re-launch the script when I'm done. Thanks again.

Yet another malware block script using ipset (v4 and v6)

I had been having strange problems with major websites for weeks. Rebooted the router again, this time not running this firewall script afterward. Suddenly those sites are working again.

Yet another malware block script using ipset (v4 and v6)

Problem solved. Github is accessible again, and JFFS is working with the script. Thank you again.

Yet another malware block script using ipset (v4 and v6)

Thank you. I have tried going to just "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/" to see if it works. It does but it forwards to "https://github.com/". Do you think reducing the number of scripts would still work? Also, it seems that our modem's IP is under 3 blacklists, according to...

Yet another malware block script using ipset (v4 and v6)

Thank you. Changing DNS servers didn't help. Here's the result from nslookup (Mac version). nslookup raw.githubusercontent.com Server: 192.168.1.1 Address: 192.168.1.1#53 Non-authoritative answer: raw.githubusercontent.com canonical name = github.map.fastly.net. Name...

Yet another malware block script using ipset (v4 and v6)

JFFS seems to work after all. I made a mistake in the script filename (see post 492). The script is in /jffs/scripts (checked with vi), but running it with "/jffs/scripts/ya-malware-block.sh" gets this: root@unknown:/tmp/home/root# /jffs/scripts/ya-malware-block.sh...

Yet another malware block script using ipset (v4 and v6)

Done, including the edits to lines 5,6 and 7. Thank you very much. Script run time was 38 seconds.

Yet another malware block script using ipset (v4 and v6)

It looks like jffs is the problem. Formatting jffs gives an error at the end, saying to check the logs for more information. The same exact error appears in the log with no other details. I created the /jffs/scripts directory, followed the instructions in post 1 and edited the "wget" url for...

Yet another malware block script using ipset (v4 and v6)

Thank you for your reply. I had enabled JFFS (did not reboot after doing this) and then ran the wget script in post 295 of this thread. How do I get the default directory? I apologize for my noobishness.

Yet another malware block script using ipset (v4 and v6)

I tried to install the Tomato version of ya-malware-block, but ended up losing connection and doing a full reset. Are there posted step-by-step instructions for installing the Tomato version, or would someone be willing to walk me through it? The router is an Asus RT-AC56R running FreshTomato...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.7 is now available

"FreshTomato" firmware is an option. We are using it on our RT-AC56R right now, which we bought new earlier this year, not knowing it would be EOL this fast. I'm not a power user, but everything seems to be working as well as before, with one exception: only the "power" LED is lit. I thought I...

YazFi YazFi - enhanced AsusWRT-Merlin Guest WiFi inc. SSID <-> VPN Client

The bandwidth limiter is working now, with settings entered under the QOS tab in Adaptive QOS, and using the guest IP range from YazFi. Before, it had been set by filling out the fields that came up from clicking on the user-entered text under "Guest Network". I haven't deleted those yet. Thank...

YazFi YazFi - enhanced AsusWRT-Merlin Guest WiFi inc. SSID <-> VPN Client

I didn't think to test it first (our old router running Tomato didn't tolerate something on the "wrong network" for testing).

YazFi YazFi - enhanced AsusWRT-Merlin Guest WiFi inc. SSID <-> VPN Client

I spoke too soon. The bandwidth limiter isn't limiting the guest network.
