My bad totally overlooked that. I was basing it on past experience where I didn't realize Windows firewall blocked other subnets by default even with file and print sharing enabled. Also I haven't seen AI protection ever block anything like that.
Doesn't sound like a router issue. Have your verified on your Windows PC hosting the file share that in your Firewall rules for SMB sharing you add the remote subnet into your allowed scope? It's probably blocking it at the windows firewall.
By default remote subnets can't access file shares...
You don't necessarily need to reboot but it is a good practice to do.
As I replied to your last post https://www.snbforums.com/threads/solved-access-openvpn-server-lan-over-remote-vpn-client.49357/#post-438184
You need to change your subnets to different ones. So your LAN you're on is...
Thanks @Martineau the credit goes to you :) Your script and reading through your posts here I have learned a lot.
A couple of things I tried your revised 3.x script for static and added an iroute line to it but didn't work. It would never add the internal route just the static IP. Second you...
See this post https://www.snbforums.com/threads/openvpn-server-cant-see-clients-lan-on-site-to-site-connection.24268/page-4#post-306591
I used his original script there and added one line to it. The 2nd echo line. So it defines 2 iroutes for the same client. That way if the client has multiple...
Ok never mind I solved it.
Used Martineau's original script and added an echo line to the config for the client to include another iroute and added a route line to the custom config line in the gui.
Now it works as I needed it from the other VPN :)
No worries. Hope my post helped.
I think I know my issue. Just not how to solve it. How do I dynamically add multiple iroutes to the same temporary CCD Name using @Martineau VPNClientConnect.sh script?
You're hijacking my thread! ;-)
Change each of your separate router local LAN subnet to something different. Recommend to not use the default 192.168.1.x (Ex 192.168.10.x , 192.168.20.x, 192.168.30.x)
Do you really need each to have a server? You could set them all up to connect back to one as...
@Martineau I really could use your expertise on solving this problem I have been working on for a while. Or anyone else who might know what I am missing/doing wrong.
Background:
I have a Linux OpenVPN Gateway Client setup at my house. It is connected to 5 different OpenVPN Servers running at...
I got this working on my site to site VPN. 5 things you need to do
Enable the WINS server that Merlin added under the USB Application tab and also set as master browser (you only need 1 WINS server as master browser)
Under LAN set a custom domain such as local.lan
In your OpenVPN server you...
1. Why it is important to disable the Asus firewall? wouldn't it decrease the overall security? is there a possibility to avoid that? So you can access the VPN router from the Fritz side. Not really but its on the inside of your internal network. Yes its not required but it's something I do on...
So I have the same issue trying to get 2 RT-AC3100's to work. I factory reset both multiple times. No luck. A lot of wasted time trying to get it to work.
It will connect once but as soon as I pull the power to the node and power it back on it will no longer be found by the main one. Even after...
