Help with MoCa network (Actiontec Adapter and Wireless Extender)

What device is your MoCA network coordinator? The status screen capture is confusing: the "*" is shown in the column header row. You show the wireless adapter and Cisco STB being fed (via the splitter) from the "pass-through port" on the Actiontec 6200 MoCA adapter. Do you have a 1:3 splitter...

    patch panel neccessary ?????

If you're willing to go 100 MB/s, then you can run a two phone lines (2 pairs) and one Ethernet connection (2 pairs) over a cat 5+ cable. That is a defined configuration for legacy wiring. Barring site specific conditions, coupled noise is not a significant issue. If you need 1 Gb Ethernet, you...

    Some questions about LAN cables

32 ga? in addition to cloud200's comments about fragility, loss at a 3 m could become significant. Why would you entertain anything except cat 5E or cat 6 for a 3 m run? Any extenuating circumstance? I think we're all assuming you want to run as fast as you can.

    Wiring advice needed

make "RT1" and RT2" into access points/switches (probably just need to disable DHCP, maybe move uplink cable). replace "SW2" with a router and set routes as needed. enable DHCP.

    MoCA 2.0 Actiontech ECB6000

(my emphasis) According to "MoCA 2.0 Specification for Device RF Characteristics" (20150406), band D is 1125-1675 MHz. Aren't your 1 GHz splitters in conflict with that?

Set the router clock with a GPS receiver for under $70

kvic and ASAT: can you explain the factor of 10 difference in offset (~100 us ASAT vs ~1 ms kvic)? Any results from the Raspberry Pi? That seems like it has the potential for 10-100 us offsets with the direct PPS connection and the possibility to strip a lot of overhead from the Pi.

Moca woes. Help 1.1 works, but 2.0 does not.

There's nothing accessible from my side (LAN) to allow this. I guess I'll have to let Comcast take care of it. Uh-oh.

Moca woes. Help 1.1 works, but 2.0 does not.

Thanks for the reply. Yah, I drew it up. I'll take that as a compliment :p. The cable modem is a Cisco DPC3941B . The data sheet reports "MoCA Versions: MoCA 1.1 and 2.0". For what it's worth, it's a pretty nice box. Docsis 3.0, four 1 Gb/s RJ45, 2.4 and 5 GHz AC WiFi, firewall, IPv4 and IPv6...

Moca woes. Help 1.1 works, but 2.0 does not.

Can I piggy-back on this thread as it is close to my situation? I'm new to MOCA, and since I just got a cable modem with MOCA capability, I was hoping to use it to get Ethernet upstairs through existing RG6-U. Based on this thread and some other reading, I think the attached diagram is a proper...

Why No 10GbE For Home Users?

In Apr 2015, I got 1000' of Belden 10GX12 Augmented for less than $550.00 (~$0.55 / foot) including shipping. At this point it cable costs don't seem to be the limiting issue. Installation, equipment, and power dissipation/removal...well that's another kettle 'o fish or two, isn't it?

    AC66U loose antenna

Lending out my AC66U (note to self: don't do that again) resulted in one of the antennas being loose. To avoid taking it apart unnecessarily, I'm looking for group experience. The amount of looseness is such that it will not hold its position when rotated over 45 degrees from vertical. If...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 3.0.0.4.374.37 is out

At high frequencies, signal propagation is not necessarily symmetric due to reflections and absorption. Even if you had ideally matched transmit / receive pairs and signal strength detection, you are pretty much guaranteed to see different levels at each end. In an open-field test site you...
