I suspect the external drive mounting is slower than your transmission to up and running after reboot. Maybe you can try to put that restart command on the post-mount script inside the /jffs/scripts folder and see how it goes
For testing purpose, I switch off one of my internet modem to see if the router will failover to my 2nd internet. And then switch on that modem again, but the router unable to switch back to it.
And yes, I noticed restarting the script do the trick. It will switch back to the primary internet...
I just got my new AX86U delivered today and tried the beta 6 of this script. The failover to 2nd WAN is working, but recovery back to primary WAN doesn’t work automatically. I have to do the switch back manually. And the log capture showing strange error “WAN Failover is currently disabled”...

Somehow this and set the Accept DNS Setting as strict not working after I restart my router due to power failure in my house. Need set the Accept DNS Setting as Exclusive again for my Disney+ to work. Confusing
I'm using Torguard with dedicated streaming IP. And x3mrouting had been working superbly. Until today, Disney+ geo-blocking my IP. Upon troubleshooting, I have to change the "Accept DNS Configuration" from strict to exclusive to make it work again. But the problem now is x3mrouting is no longer...
