    Release ASUS RT-AC68U / RT-AC66U B1 / RT-AC1900(P/U) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_52062 (2025/10/27)

What's in a number: RAM Usage is slowly increasing, see posts #26 and #32 above. All the rest, the Router just does what it is supposed to do without strange messages in the System Log and no Wi-Fi outages.

    AC68U and AC86U Asus firmwares from 2025:

There is the latest ASUS stock firmware, what's wrong with using that (ok, I can list a few reasons)? The firmware for the RT-AC68U is based on the "3004.386" family, which is superseded rather long ago by the "3004.388" and "3006.102" families. RMerlin is a single person developer and as far as...

    AC68U and AC86U Asus firmwares from 2025:

Talking about the RT-AC68U, that is by now and technically seen an ancient router. Yes, I am still using it my self mainly because ASUS now and then releases new firmware and speed is not an issue for me. The EOL statement is to warn those router owners that support is ending, either immediate...

    Release ASUS RT-AC68U / RT-AC66U B1 / RT-AC1900(P/U) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_52062 (2025/10/27)

Maybe RAM usage is slowly increasing, see post #26 above for reference: And January 20:

Sudden Wifi issue - RT-BE88U/Sensi Thermostat

Why blame the router instead of the thermostat? Maybe the thermostat got an overnight firmware update causing the issues. Usually the cheap WiFi chips in those IoT things are not fully according the Wi-Fi standards, causing all kind of connectivity issues. Some years ago our new home heating...

    Release ASUS RT-AC68U / RT-AC66U B1 / RT-AC1900(P/U) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_52062 (2025/10/27)

And here some recent Radar Detection entries in the System Log: Dec 10 07:41:35 kernel: SKIPPED false Type 7 Radar Detection. min_pw=228 pw_delta=0 pri=5850 fm_min=1030 fm_max=0 nconsecq_pulses=6. Time from last detection = 3090196, = 51503min 16sec. Detected pulse index: 0 Dec 10 07:41:35...

    Release ASUS RT-AC68U / RT-AC66U B1 / RT-AC1900(P/U) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_52062 (2025/10/27)

34 days uptime for my RT-AC68U. Just for reference: Older RAM data can be found here: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/asus-rt-ac68u-firmware-version-3-0-0-4-386_51668-2023-11-30.87855/post-879064...

    Release ASUS RT-AC68U / RT-AC66U B1 / RT-AC1900(P/U) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_52062 (2025/10/27)

Available channels are region and law dependent. My RT-AC68U definitely has DFS, I have seen 5 GHz channel changes in the system log with a description like "radar detection". The RT-AC1900U as Media Bridge I did have, appeared to have troubles with automatic 5 GHz channel changes, I finally...

    Release ASUS RT-AC68U / RT-AC66U B1 / RT-AC1900(P/U) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_52062 (2025/10/27)

If not DFS, how would you call the red marked channels below? The old school weather radar channels 120, 124 and 128 are not supported, but those are a special part within the range of DFS channels.

    Release ASUS RT-AC68U / RT-AC66U B1 / RT-AC1900(P/U) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_52062 (2025/10/27)

5 GHz can be troublesome due to build in protections against radar disturbance, causing pauses in the radio signals or changing channels. Try a fixed channel out of 36, 40, 44 or 48. The disadvantage of those channels is that they usually are the most crowded.

Wireless router (mode) PC cannot ping AP (mode) PC on 2nd router

I always get a bit nervous when people say like "I tried everything and followed the suggestions" without being very specific what you did. The basic network functions, Windows 11, file sharing all are not affected by "old" ASUS routers, the RT-AC66U is pretty well capable to all those basic...

Wireless router (mode) PC cannot ping AP (mode) PC on 2nd router

My guess would be if you set up two new ASUS routers the same as you do now (one as Router, the other one wired up as Access Point), the result will be the same. You didn't share much about how you did configure both the Router and Access Point. A few basic steps I suggest: Assuming the Router...

    Release ASUS RT-AC68U / RT-AC66U B1 / RT-AC1900(P/U) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_52062 (2025/10/27)

Maybe to be more clear: RT-AC68U firmware 3.0.0.4.386.52048 recommended a factory-default reset. If you did a factory-default reset after the upgrade to 3.0.0.4.386.52048, you can skip the factory-default reset after the upgrade to 3.0.0.4.386.52062. If you upgrade to 3.0.0.4.386.52062 from a...

    Release ASUS RT-AC68U / RT-AC66U B1 / RT-AC1900(P/U) Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386_52062 (2025/10/27)

I cannot tell you, but I doubt it would as explained by Tech9. We dismissed the RT-AC1900U Media Bridge a while ago because we finally managed to pull a network cable from the modem to the TV location. Note: in our setup the RT-AC68U is connected to one port of the fiber optic modem, the remote...
