AiMesh node - with wired client

The AiMesh Node it self stayed solid in the AiMesh overview (for the time I observed it), it was the wired client to the AiMesh Node that appeared and disappeared in the AiMesh overview page under the AiMesh Node. It can be just a monitor issue, not a real connection issue. The AiMesh idea is...

AiMesh node - with wired client

I gave it a try: setup the RT-AC1900U as AiMesh Node to the RT-AC68U router with a client (TV streaming box) wired to the AiMesh Node. This works, the throughput seems ok (at least it reaches my ISP subscription max of 100 Mbps up / 100 Mbps down). The whole AiMesh interface looks neat, but: the...

    RT-AC68U in Media Bridge mode won't go faster than 288.9 Mbps. Main router = AX-88U. RSSI @ AC-68U is a strong -35dBm.

Did you try to set the RT-AC1900P as AiMesh node instead of Media Bridge, then wire your client devices to it and try the throughput?

AiMesh node - with wired client

The distance between the Router and Media Bridge is about 8 meters, with one brick wall in between. The Link rate between the Router and the Media Bridge goes around 1000 Mbps. The maximum speed I have not really determined yet, it is way sufficient for the application. The application is a...

    RT-AC68U in Media Bridge mode won't go faster than 288.9 Mbps. Main router = AX-88U. RSSI @ AC-68U is a strong -35dBm.

A few thoughts: The performance of all models from the RT-AC68 family should be about the same (I suppose as consumer it will be hard to find a real difference). Why talk about an RT-AC68U while it is a RT-AC1900P which was a Best Buy special? Why not be sure and load the current latest...

AiMesh node - with wired client

I was thinking the same: the Media Bridge does perform as expected and for the purpose I do not need AiMesh (no need for roaming wireless clients). AiMesh will cause some overhead for sure. Out of curiosity I will some day give AiMesh a try though.

RT-AC66U B1 Spamming network with discovery messages (QueryLargeTlv)

When you are familar with Wireshark, you shall also be able to monitor the other trafic.

AiMesh node - with wired client

Something to try soon and see what is more convenient: Media Bridge or and AiMesh-Node.

AiMesh node - with wired client

Does an AiMesh node (not being the AiMesh Router) support wired clients?

Did you check the Wireless Log of the Router, did it indicate 20 MHz for 5 GHz? You can try to force the Router to 80 Mhz, in the Wireless - 5 GHz settings. It can be other wireless clients as well to scale down the Router to 20 MHz, or neighbor disturbance.

Was the Media Bridge box brought to factory default, then set to Media Bridge?

    RT-AC68U in Media Bridge mode won't go faster than 288.9 Mbps. Main router = AX-88U. RSSI @ AC-68U is a strong -35dBm.

Check the Wireless log for the bandwidth: 80 MHz in my case. Lower data rates are usually caused by one or more of the following: Neighbor disturbance (other networks using the same channel). Steel or concrete near by the Router or Media Bridge (steel shelves?) or in between the devices...

    RT-AC68U in Media Bridge mode won't go faster than 288.9 Mbps. Main router = AX-88U. RSSI @ AC-68U is a strong -35dBm.

It shall be capable up to 1300 Mbps. I have a RT-AC68U as main Router and a RT-AC1900U as Media Bridge, about 7 meters apart with one brick wall in between: It goes a bit up and down over time, doesn't go below say 800 Mbps, sometimes up to the max of 1300 Mbps. The Media Bridge setup is pretty...

    RT-AC68U / RT-AC68P / RT-AC1900 / RT-AC1900P

Check the first post here, the TM-AC1900 and RT-AC1900U are similar but different boxes and I am aware of the differences. The last few posts are regarding RT-AC68U vs RT-AC1900U and I don't talk about AiMesh. The RT-AC1900U is identical to the RT-AC66U-B1, and both are a "repacked" RT-AC68U...

    RT-AC68U / RT-AC68P / RT-AC1900 / RT-AC1900P

For a page like the LAN page that is true. The firmware page to my opinion can be independent. In Media Bridge Mode many setting pages simply do not exist. One good day I will give it a try and set the RT-AC1900U back to Router mode and have a look. Functional wise everything is working as it...
