Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 is now available

Just went through this myself. You probably already fixed this. Here is what I did for my instance. Original create-ipset-lists.sh has a variable ' case $(ipset -v | grep -o "v[4,6]") in' Since 386.1 is now v7, just change the line to read: 'case $(ipset -v | grep -o "v[4,7]") in'. Also change...

AMPRNET 44/8 Domain IPIP Tunnel and RIP44D for RT-AC5300 ?

I was trying to figure out if I could install the Amateur Radio AMPRNET rip44d on a ASUS RT-AC-5300. I would be following the guidelines for OpenWRT: http://wiki.ampr.org/wiki/Setting_up_a_gateway_on_OpenWRT Is this possible to have a IPIP protocol 4 capability on this router running Asus-WRT...

UDP port 9999 infosvr Security Concerns?

I noticed that I am seeing UDP port 9999 broadcasts to 255.255.255.255:9999 from the ASUS AC-5300 routers. Did some research and found: 9999 udp infosvr Several Asus router models use a service called infosvr that listens on UDP port 9999 with root privileges and contains unauthenticated command...

Returned RMA routers that do not have a cleared NVRAM thoughts

If the service is via a Manufacture then possibly. Most likely the work is performed by a sub-vendor. Cyber hygiene is not a bad thing to practice especially if one has a business to protect. I really like the practice of multi-factor authentication myself. Anyway, it is a good discussion...

Returned RMA routers that do not have a cleared NVRAM thoughts

I was thinking of a past exploit where the hard drives internal to printers and copiers where harvested for the information. What initiated this thought was the fact that I was getting ready to return a router to be replaced. Seeing literally hundreds or more of boundary devices being turned in...

    AC-3100 no web or wifi

Under stand both. In the AP mode I have the primary router providing a dynamic IP. Guess I could make it static but either way. I was unable to access other than SSH. This is water under the bridge since neither of the radio ports are operational. Seems that the seller only warranties for 30...

    AC-3100 no web or wifi

Excellent find! I am also thinking, since this was one of over 600 "refurbished" units that Newegg is selling, that the components may not be from ASUS (forgery or fake components). Just a suspicion at this point. In my case both radio ports are dead.

    AC-3100 no web or wifi

Yes, I have tried both RMerlin and the latest ASUS AC3100 .trx Both have no wifi or web interface once I shift over (hard boot) from the 192.168.1.1 to the dynamic IP associated with the AP mode. The wired routing associated with the AP mode works fine. Waiting for a RMA authorization for a...

    AC-3100 no web or wifi

Screen Lock out. Anyone have a work around this error? SSH does work to the console.

    AC-3100 no web or wifi

Well... once again I spoke to soon. The TFTP process has allowed me to shift between stock firmware and RMerlin firmware. In both cases neither radio port is operational. I can configure both radio ports using the web interface and all appears good but the radio interface appears not to be...

    AC-3100 no web or wifi

All efforts that I tried did fail. However following the TFTP process allowed me to upload a new image. The WAP is up and running. Thank you.

    AC-3100 no web or wifi

No Joy, I may have missed it but the banner on the top of the wizard configuration page is stating that this is not a ASUS device, but not always. (Which it is). This may be the root of the problem. I can now at least upload fresh firmware. Crossing fingers...and toes

    AC-3100 no web or wifi

Maybe the second time is a charm? Right after I re-configured the router: Access Point mod, HTTPS and SSH it went right back into a no wifi or web state. Think I will redo the firmware before making any changes. Round 2

    AC-3100 no web or wifi

Hi TonyH, yes, I had full SSH into the console. Which also means that I could SCP as needed. Good thing the forum came to the rescue just in the nick of time.
