VPN Director - What am I missing ?

While I'm not a networking expert, what you are saying may be spot-on. Yes, I'm using the same VPN provider. Here's my output from the commands, where the bolded red lines probably indicates the problem - the second bolded line should be reading default via 10.8.8.1 dev tun1"2", etc ? (I've...

VPN Director - What am I missing ?

The above pic shows how I have set up VPN Director - for the clients with IPs .125, .190, .85 to use OVPN1, while the .190 and .180 should use OVPN2. I have the kill switch off for both OVPN1 and 2, and "Redirect Internet traffic through tunnel" is set to "VPN Director (policy rules)" for both...

    AX58U Slow OpenVPN speeds

Thanks, that's helpful input. I see the new - RC3-Beta firmware from Asus, carrying the Wireguard feature. So hopefully Asus will release the GPL for WG included, given the latter itself is open source. So we have something to look forward to...

    AX58U Slow OpenVPN speeds

Yes, after researching this forum, I think its safe to conclude that the AX-58U is limited to 40 - 50 Mbps with OpenVPN, no matter what the provisioned ISP speed is. The only way around for the AX-58U to have higher speeds, might be through the wireguard support that Asus has released beta...

    RT-AX58U VPN Speeds?

The RT-AX58U is giving you all it can with the limited resources it has (namely, no AES support). So to be very clear, you mean the VPN speed will be capped at ~45 Mbps, no matter what my provisioned ISP throughput is, correct ? And for VPN speeds specifically - aside from AES support, which...

    RT-AX58U VPN Speeds?

I have the same problem, where, with a 125 Mbps connection, I get at most ~45 Mbps while using the OpenVPN from within the Merlin firmware, on the AX58U. So I have two questions, for the knowledgeable folks here: Does the througput with OpenVPN on the AX58U scale with the provisioned speed by...

    ASUS RT-N66U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.382.51641

So, what is the consensus folks ? I'm blissfully happily still running Merlin's 380.70, but occasionally suffer from bouts of panic of being exposed to a vulnerability. Should I update to Asus' versions through 2019, or stay with Merlin ?
