Network setup for multiple IOT (30+) devices

How do you manage the "controlled" access devices? I'm interested in having my smart tv access the internet but not the internal network UNLESS I want to stream something to it, either from NAS or from laptop. What's a good way of doing this in a seamless way that makes sense? Also for that...

Silly question - Accessing a device locally that's blocked from accessing intranet

My current setup has two AC68u routers, one working as a regular router and one as a bridge. I connected the bridge to a network that restricts intranet access, and connected a wired switch to it with various devices. Is it possible to access one of the devices despite the network it connects...

    DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN unless forwarding dns upstream

Thanks for the help! > /opt/var/log/dnsmasq.log Is this where diversion puts its logs if you enable it?

    DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN unless forwarding dns upstream

Hey, using RT-AC68U router. I'm using diversion and it has been fine so far. firmware is 384.18 because I couldnt get .19 to work (no internet no matter what I try). Anyway I started getting DNS errors recently. Updated all the plugins I got on the router (Diversion, Skynet, YazFi, scribe...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 is now available

Okay I have no idea what I'm doing wrong but I just can't get any internet connection on any of my devices after updating from 384.17 to 384.19. I had to roll back. The router itself shows internet connection, I can ping addresses and update scripts through Putty, but no device (pc or phone or...

I didn't need to do that last time I updated but I will try that. Thanks for the tip.

Anyone has a clue what this might be?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 is now available

Hey, just tried updating from 384.17 to 384.19 on my 68U router, after updating all of the addons first. I couldn't connect to the internet after updating. The main page said "Internet status: connected" but there was no connection neither LAN nor Wireless to the internet. I restarted and played...

    [384.18_Alpha Builds] Testing all variants

Noob question: I'm on 384.16 beta 2 right now. If I wanna update do I need to do it manually or can I do it from the web interface like with regular firmware?

YazFi YazFi - enhanced AsusWRT-Merlin Guest WiFi inc. SSID <-> VPN Client

It ended up randomly appearing again after I went back and forth through a few unrelated menus in the router. 68u btw. Seems to work fine now.

YazFi YazFi - enhanced AsusWRT-Merlin Guest WiFi inc. SSID <-> VPN Client

Now I don't see YazFi at all o_O

YazFi YazFi - enhanced AsusWRT-Merlin Guest WiFi inc. SSID <-> VPN Client

I got YazFi showing up twice in guest networks. Is this a problem? Recently I just updated stuff through amtm, nothing unusual.

YazFi YazFi - enhanced AsusWRT-Merlin Guest WiFi inc. SSID <-> VPN Client

Question - What does the Force DNS feature do? And also - I set my guest network ip to 192.168.5.0 but I see that a device on that network is still using a 192.168.1.x address, why is that?

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

Does anyone know how to get Diversion to work while also running a VPN client on the router? Doing so requires changing the DNS 1 and 2 servers in LAN > DHCP Server which seems to make Diversion not apply anymore.

Diversion Diversion - the Router Ad-Blocker

So from what I understand the DHCP page shows what addresses all the clients will use for DNS, leaving it blank = the router will be used. But the DNS under WAN is what the router will use eventually. So should I put a public DNS server like 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 there? Will Diversion still work...
