poor LAN performance on 384.13.1 (AC87U)

I am quite certain now that it was a Windows issue. I switched to Ubuntu 18.04 an downloads are running now with ~860-ish mbps and uploads with above 900 mbps. I don't know why I had half of this under windows 10. I had all drivers up-to-date (in search for a solution I even usen DriverMAX...

poor LAN performance on 384.13.1 (AC87U)

It seems not to be the best idea to have the switch on the same extension lead as the computer - and power them on at the same time. Because this makes it likely that the computer only get a 100 mbps connection instead of 1 gbps. Furthermore, I tried it now with a Netgear GS105E smart managed...

poor LAN performance on 384.13.1 (AC87U)

Well, I tried the speedtest directly connected to the ISP-router and got about ~600 Mbps down, so I guess my PC is the actual bottleneck. However, I tried it then again connected to the AC87U and it went back down to ~90 Mbps. So I guess I will have to retire this device and go for a second hand...

poor LAN performance on 384.13.1 (AC87U)

That might be true, I'll think about it! Mhh, I honestly didn't try it before turning off the radio. :/ That's good to know about port 1. Should I use the WAN port to connect to the ISP router or one of the LAN ports? Does it matter? Thank you very much for reminding me of this, I already...

poor LAN performance on 384.13.1 (AC87U)

In the title it was correct... 384.13 to 384.13.1 is what I actually meant... Mi scusi!

poor LAN performance on 384.13.1 (AC87U)

Hey there Thank you for opening this thread! I just hard resetted my AC87U, upgraded from 384.13 to 384.13.1 and configured it as a AP. Furthermore, I deactivated both radios (I only need it as a switch). But now the performance is very poor. I ran some speedtests and got results like: ~40...

AC87U: 100% CPU load on both cores and connection problems

Now, I happened to be connected to the WiFi while the CPU load in the webUI was around 100% again. But "top" lists not really a service that causes such a high load. :S Mem: 225324K used, 30352K free, 32K shrd, 1116K buff, 5448K cached CPU: 1.6% usr 5.2% sys 0.0% nic 91.7% idle 0.8% io...

AC87U: 100% CPU load on both cores and connection problems

Is there also a possibility to create such a log-file? Because, if I cannot connect to the network, I am not able to establish a SSH connection. ;) I set up a daily reboot during the night now. Maybe this helps. Only time will tell. Thank you for the idea! I'll try this over the week now and...

AC87U: 100% CPU load on both cores and connection problems

Hi there I am running a AC87U (Merlin 384.13) with a couple of additional scripts running: DNScrypt Skynet diversion (pixelserv) (amtm) (swap enabled on USB2) (RNG) Very often I have Wi-Fi issues. My smartphone or my laptop say that they are connected to the network, but have no internet...

How to segment my network (VLANs, UTM, Cascading)

Oh, that's pretty neat! And this works in AP - mode?

AP-mode: several WiFi networks and VLAN-WLAN bridging possible?

Hi there :) I started with another thread, but the title and the content doesn't fit to the question that came up for me: I have an Asus AC87U. Is it possible to have several Wi-Fi networks in AP-mode? In router-mode there are several guest networks to enable. But is this also possible in AP...

How to segment my network (VLANs, UTM, Cascading)

Obviously, this whole network stuff is quite new to me, so I do not really see the possibilities. E. g., how could I perform the following: Smartphone connected to WLAN. Smartphone can communicate with NAS (LAN) and Chromecast(WLAN). Chromecast can't see or communicate with NAS. Maybe VLANs...

How to segment my network (VLANs, UTM, Cascading)

Thank you very much Martineau, you pointed out some helpful aspects! But I'm still a bit confused: your Asus works as a router and you have an additional (VLAN capable switch), right? Is it possible to have, e. g. an Asus AC87U, in Ap-mode to have it working as a VLAN capable switch and use...

How to segment my network (VLANs, UTM, Cascading)

One quick additional question: Are different WiFi-(Guest)-Networks available in AP-mode?
