Best way to protect from lightning strikes?

Between the whole house surge suppressor and the individual ones on the equipment, not sure what else could be done? Other equipment on the same surge suppressor were unaffected - only the router, switch, and lan port of my device were fried.

Best way to protect from lightning strikes?

Yellow and grey cables are not coax, they are ethernet. On the inside at the networking box, they are terminated but connected to nothing. They sit alongside the other coax and ethernet runs that lead to 4 different areas in the house. Only coax hookup is the incoming connection for internet...

Best way to protect from lightning strikes?

Also, just realized that the exterior Coax box has two un-terminated ethernet runs in them, that lead back to my interior networking box. On the interior, they are not connected to anything either, just sitting in the networking box. Could this have had a role? Yellow and grey wires are the...

@Ranger802004 Just wanted to say thanks for this add-on. Have been using it for the last 3 months after discovering it. Has been working flawlessly for me to route certain traffic through my VPN clients. While I haven't used the Beta, look forward to it when it is released. Feature request -...

    x3mRouting x3mRouting ~ Selective Routing for Asuswrt-Merlin Firmware (1-Nov-2020)

Take a look at Domain VPN Routing (linked below). I can't speak to if the router traffic would be re-directed, but can confirm that when I am outside the house and connect back via Wireguard Server, my specified traffic routes through the VPN I chose in Domain VPN Routing...

    What became of your TM-AC1900?

Using mine in media bridge mode to provide some ethernet drops w/o having to run wires. Still working well!

I bought a Chinese RT-AC86U should I be worried about security & privacy?

Power supply doesn't matter - what we're saying is even the China market routers have firmware developed in Taiwan, not China.

I bought a Chinese RT-AC86U should I be worried about security & privacy?

So for OP - your real question seems to be is if you trust Taiwanese firmware or not. Have to imagine they are not helping China collect any information in any way.

I bought a Chinese RT-AC86U should I be worried about security & privacy?

Isn't ASUS a Taiwanese company? Is the firmware developed in China or Taiwan? I suspect the latter, but not sure at all.

Adding a port forwarding rule for Plex

You don't have to open a port to auth to app.plex.tv. Opening ports for Plex is used just for remote streaming I suspect your issue is related to your Docker Container and getting your PMS to see your traffic as local.
