my RT-AX86U has been on 2.400 for 2 months now and am wondering if the merlin fw might have a glitch or bug. have been triggering checks periodically and it tells me 2.400 is the latest. can someone confirm what the latest trend micro signature version is ?

whatever the foundation architecture is, 388.2_2 works better for me.

seems that any fw i try for my router from the 3004_ series is buggy. it is not remembering my settings in parental controls and has it's wires crossed between time scheduling and manually blocking clients in the active connection list. i reverted back to RT-AX86U_388.2_2

it worked without an issue, all my settings and configuration are in-tact. i was worried that if the configuration would have gone south, that i would not be able to restore a backup config. not always messing with my router, so for me to redo the setup from scratch would be a few hours...

thanks for the tip... going to wing it on the notion that a botch-up by downgrading is unlikely (hopefully) ... will know soon

would this get me back to the previous merlin FW without any remnants of the current firmware left over ?

can i simply flash the previous firmware onto my rt-86u ? would like to go back to 3004_388.4_0 ...

nevermind my last post ... it looks like the OVPN profile export includes the dynamic DNS address that i setup in WAN-->DDNS. documentation online is somewhat poor, could not find mention that OpenVPN takes the DDNS into account when exporting the profile. will reboot my router to force an IP...

coming back with a few more questions ... after enabling DDNS and registering a hostname, how do i go about using my OpenVPN server again ? would i be able to just go back to the VPN section in the router and export the OVPN profile again ? not sure i understand if OpenVPN does or can work...
