    No, it doesn't matter where I am, I get the same speed. I just looked at my wi-fi settings on the laptop and it says that it's an intel dual band wireless-N 7260 so it's not even AC. Regardless of that, like I said, I tried it connected to my router wired and still get about 170.

    Ok, then what about the ac3100? It's not a tri-band but is it over kill unless you have a fiber internet connection compared to using the ac68u?
