Release [FORK][DSL] GNUton's Merlin builds for DSL Router 386.1_2 released.

I just checked and there is only one file in the download from ASUS (97MB .w file) So unless the load logic in the router knows about versions, I'm not sure. But I am far from techincal enough to know if the router can load partially from that file. But thanks for the reply!

OK Thanks! I'm really curious of why so much size difference! ASUS native is twice as large :S

Release [FORK][DSL] GNUton's Merlin builds for DSL Router 386.1_2 released.

Quick (stupid???) question - I noticed that the Firmware from ASUS (for the RT-AX82U) is 101 MB, but the one from https://github.com/gnuton/asuswrt-merlin.ng/releases/download/388.1_0-gnuton1/RT-AX82U_388.1_0-gnuton1_puresqubi.w is only 50MB. Someone would know why such a difference in size? Is...

Release [FORK][DSL] GNUton's Merlin builds for DSL Router 386.1_2 released.

That was my impression as well - I just didn't think about checking the FW versions on the ASUS site.... Thanks for the extra step (that I should have taken!!!!) I do hope it adds the missing AIMesh link from the left menu - the ASUS FW doesn't. I did have it on my RT-AC66U B1 GUI, where I...

Release [FORK][DSL] GNUton's Merlin builds for DSL Router 386.1_2 released.

Good day! I just changed my router - had an RT-AC66U B1 before, but had too many drops (doesn't play well with Video meetings for work!!!). So I bought an RT-AS82U. It is really ugly (my point of view as I know some people are delighted by the spaceships look and flashy lights). I don't really...

AC66U B1 (AIMesh node) is dead. What would be a good replacement? (I can't spend $300 as I've seen on Amazon)

Thanks - with the shipping, it's about what I can get here in Canada. Nonetheless, thanks for looking it up! That is greatly appreciated! I'm still debating if I should get something newer, or rely on this which is getting a bit old, but as mentionned, the price point may be the decisive...

AC66U B1 (AIMesh node) is dead. What would be a good replacement? (I can't spend $300 as I've seen on Amazon)

Thinking about it, it is the same unit I had some configuration issue and had a hard time resetting back in early March... I should have seen the sign! :S

AC66U B1 (AIMesh node) is dead. What would be a good replacement? (I can't spend $300 as I've seen on Amazon)

So I finally found my issue I've been facing for a little while now. I have 2 RT-AC66U B1 routers set in AIMesh mode. I was having all kind of disconnect, and it seems it was due to my main unit - it's also the oldest of the two. I've been pushing this for too long now, but today, I decided to...

RT-AC66U B1 (Firmware 386.51255) - is there a way to block incoming IP address?

Good idea, but for that I need to know the IPs of each users, which might be an issue. But indeed could be feasible.... Thanks for the input!

RT-AC66U B1 (Firmware 386.51255) - is there a way to block incoming IP address?

Oh ok! So just the regular Windows firewall... Good idea - I should have thought about this! Thanks!

RT-AC66U B1 (Firmware 386.51255) - is there a way to block incoming IP address?

Hi there. I was wondering if there is a way to block an incoming IP address. I do host a private web site (over https), but I see all kind of connections in the SysLogs. Every couple seconds, I see this type of entry : ACCEPT IN=eth0 OUT=br0 SRC=46.148.40.175 DST=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx This...

    RT-AC66U B1, FW 386.9 > Can't get AiMesh to work

Wow! Impressive! Glad I chose this model for my home network. Thanks!

    RT-AC66U B1, FW 386.9 > Can't get AiMesh to work

Yes - you are absolutely right. I've had the first in the pair setup for a couple years now (6-7 maybe?). When I moved, I added a second router as an AiMesh - the wall between the house and the garage is brick and the automated light and surveillance camera on that side couldn't reach the...

    RT-AC66U B1, FW 386.9 > Can't get AiMesh to work

Thanks a lot for all this info Tech9. After reseting to factory defaults, I was able (using stock FW as you suggested) to add my second router as an AiMesh node. I seem to now be back to business - just need to reconfigure everything. Again, thanks a lot for all your help - I'll stick to your...
