Alrighty so the router has been perfectly stable for the past 2.5ish weeks after nuclear reset, flashing stock firmware, and some customization. Only downtime was from GUI initiated reboots after making a configuration change. Buuuuuuuuut...
A couple days ago our power was shut off for long...
Well, we're stable for over 30 hours so far on the latest stock firmware, and a minimal configuration. That's a big improvement, before I was only able to get a maximum of 23-24 hours out of it.
That said, I also found and follwed L&LD's Nuclear Reset guide as closely as I could this time...
Believe I was running 388.4 before so I reset it both before and after updating to the latest. Since I was still encountering the issue after the update, I reset/re-flashed the latest Merlin firmware twice over as a troubleshooting step and it didn't seem to help anything... It might have...
Now that you mention it, I did not try stock firmware yet, just various versions of Merlin. Do I need to do anything differently to flash back to stock, or just update like normal?
Yes, it is on auto channel select. I did some reading on other threads here to try and find a possible solution and did try setting it to a fixed channel, but it didn’t help the issue.
Hi all,
I'm having a strange problem with my GT-AX11000. There is no pattern to it and no indication of a problem in the log, at least, that I can see.
I attached a snippet of my syslog where the "problem" occurs.
Here's what I'm experiencing (on the daily):
- ALL 2.4ghz wifi clients (voice...
@livefeed update for you if you haven't solved your issue yet.
I've had over two weeks uptime now, only thing I have not done now is enable dns director. Haven't tried DOS protection either, and won't re-enable it following advice from others on this thread. I didn't have any problems with it...
Ok so we're up to a week with no downtime, not bad.
Have set up AiMesh again, set a couple of reserved IPs, and changed my DNS servers to Cloudflare and Google.
Have yet to set up traffic history, port forwarding or DNS director. But so far so good. Will keep updating this thread as I go.
Small update on this, I performed a hard factory reset Monday morning and left all settings at default and it has not crashed/gone offline for over 50 hours, so that's a start. Going to wait another day or two before I start (slowly) changing settings back to what I had before.
You can do this...
Ok, noted.
Wasn't copying anyone's settings... for some reason I was just running with the mentality that "it's a computer and should be rebooted every so often".
As I mentioned previously I'm not the most experienced with networking stuff yet. I appreciate everyone's input on this.
That's a good question... not something I thought to pay attention to. Are there set hours of the day when it saves (noon, midnight, etc)?
I feel like it's kind of random when it happens. Like this morning it dropped the connection at about 9am after only 6 hours of uptime because of a scheduled...
