How to set 10MB half duplex on a LAN port for RT-BE86U

I can confirm that RT-BE86U does not support half duplex with stock firmware either. I have a TellStick Net that has 10M half duplex ethernet and it didn't work with RT-BE86U, no matter if Merlin or stock fw. Only solution was to add separate older router. This was 10 months ago, so I think...

    RT-BE86U just factory reseted itself

I have two RT-BE86U's running Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.4. Last night one of them decided to spontaneously factory reset. I was greeted with the setup wizard when logging in.. There seems to be at least one other case with same firmware version...

RT-BE88U factory reset itself while I was away – any ideas

Just happened with my RT-BE86U, also running Asuswrt-Merlin 3006.102.4. I have two of these routers, both running same firmware. And also two other older Asus routers running stock fw. These were not affected. All my routers are behind UPS power so there haven't been any power outages...

    Need help configuring NextDNS

Heh. I was just about to point out the same, after looking at the source.. In wanduck.c, do_dns_detect function: https://github.com/RMerl/asuswrt-merlin.ng/blob/1f969b47cdaca08ee538b644db8336669ba30c0c/release/src/router/rc/wanduck.c#L860 /* Return values: -1: error or disable 0...

    Need help configuring NextDNS

Yeah. But that is what most people would expect when they uncheck the DNS Query.

    Need help configuring NextDNS

Ah sorry, yes you are correct. It was quite a while ago when I wondered about this dns.msftncsi.com problem. Let's try again, maybe I get it right this time. :D First, enable DNS Query so the address fields become visible. Then instead of "dns.msftncsi.com" write "8.8.8.8". Click Apply. Then...

    Need help configuring NextDNS

Old thread, but I'll continue anyway. :) If using nextdns-cli, you can use "forwarder" to force different DNS to be used for certain domains. For example, several devices in my network are constantly polling "time.nist.gov" and "pool.ntp.org" to get network time. These addresses have very...

    Solved by installing Merlin. :)

Solved NextDNS stock asuswrt vs Merlin, caching difference?

Hi, previously I was running RT-AC86U with Merlin, and was using nextdns cli. I could quite easily fit my month DNS usage into the free 300000 monthly limit of NextDNS so I didn't need a paid plan. Half way of November I updated my router to RT-BE86U. I'm currently running stock AsusWRT, which...

RT-BE86U - how to disable Smart connect?

I had similar trouble that my smart tv would not connect to RT-BE86U. The solution was to create a 2.4GHz guest network with Wifi7 turned off. The asuswrt setup is quite confusing as the Wifi7 toggle is under the "Network" page, not under "Wifi". Took a while to figure it out.

    UDP multicast issues, RT-AC86U & RT-BE86U

Tried Merlin on the RT-BE86U's as well, no difference. Now I have everything back to stock. It must be something in the BE's because everything was working when I only had AC routers.. But still I find it odd that it's the RT-AC86U that needs to be rebooted to make multicast work again. As a...

    UDP multicast issues, RT-AC86U & RT-BE86U

Hi! I previously had an AiMesh system with one RT-AC86U as main router and three RT-AC66U_B1's. It was a fully wired AiMesh, working fine. All were running Merlin. Now there was a Black Friday deal on RT-BE86U so I bought two of them, so I could also update big part of the ethernet backhaul to...
