Anyone had any problems with Dns over TLS and Login.Live / Epic Games logins lately?

The last few days, my routers DNS over TLS setup (Using Cloudflare and google as backup) have been causing NS Lookup failures, and things like rocket league to fail authentication and hang on just the background screen after pressing L+R Amazon Prime Video also was affected like this lately.

Diversion Setting port for dns (dnsmasq[4459]: using nameserver 9.9.9.9#53)

Why when the router restarts does the log show a bunch of entries like this: … instead of port #853 (?) ——————————— my setup: (I use DNS-over-TLS — or at least, I thought I did) OVPN …. dhcp-option DNS 9.9.9.9 dhcp-option DNS 149.112.112.112 and DNSdirector is set to “Router” with a...

DoT servers Surfnet/Sinodun IPv4&IPv6 (port 443) were disabled

DNS-over-TLS servers Surfnet/Sinodun 1 and Surfnet/Sinodun 2 IPv4&IPv6 (port 443) were disabled, should we replace them with something similar DoT with port 443? Right now only Neutopia works there.

Is there a way to set DNS-server priority in Dnsmasq when using DoT?!

I have setup the two NextDNS servers under WAN with DNS-over-TLS. If looking at "/etc/resolv.conf" it now points to localhost with the entry "nameserver 127.0.0.1". All good so far and it seems to be using Round Robin. I then tried adding these two lines in "dnsmasq.postconf" and with the...

    DNS-OVER-TLS AND VPN — 3.0.0.4.386.45956

Now that asuswrt-official [RT-AC86U] supports DNS-over-TLS …. well, actually, do we care? What I mean to say is: If I already use a VPN (PIA)—currently only on individual clients since I’m using the ASUS stock firmware again—whereby DNS lookups are encrypted, (by the VPN—to the VPN DNS), … (1)...

RT-AX58U DNS-over-TLS (DoT) issue with Guest Networks

I ran into an issue with the RT-AX58U (ASUSWRT 3.0.0.4.386_45898, No AiMesh) router using DNS-over-TLS (DoT Strick or Opportunistic) running over any Guest Network (Guest 2 is set to ap_isolate=0). I am using Google TV and Sony Bravia TV devices. When starting a video from Hulu or HBOMax, the...

DNS-over-TLS - disable possibility for regular DNS requests from asus router

Hi, Long time reader of these forums and grateful for all the advice. Running RT-AC86U smoothly. Configured DNS-over-TLS with all DNS traffic from LAN intercepted and answered by Router. This works flawlessly. (Got answer back for a "dig nas.lan @1.1.1.1 that only exists on my lan and couldn't...

    DNS-over-TLS - RT-AC86U - 384.15 ...

Hi, Trying to set up DNS-over-TLS in my AC86U. Have managed to add 3 servers to the list and it works very well. For some reason i can't add the number 4 or 5 server, or actually i can add servers to the list, but when pressing Apply to save the settings, only the previous 3 servers are left...

Dual Stack (IPv6): DNS for IPv6 is not my AC88U

Hi, I figured out that in my dual-stack environment my Clients get for IPv4 my router's DNS IP but for IPv6 my Client's get the Providers DNS. My expectation would be to also get the router's IPv6 (the local one) for DNS. :/ I Use DHCP-PD and it works so far. Also I set up DoT on WAN settings...
