2.4ghz Won't Do Over 100MB - ac68r

ac68r, I was running merlin, but now I am on the latest stock firmware.

My ISP upgraded me from 100MB to 200MB.
I am able to get the 200MB connected directly to my modem, connected to the router with a cable, and over 5ghz.
But when on 2.4ghz, I can't get over 100mb.

Any ideas? I checked other wifi in the subdivision since our community is new.
There are a ton of 2.4ghz, but they are mostly on channel 11.
I have tried channel, 1, 2, 3, and now 8. Same results.
No one is on channel 8 except me.
I have a second ac68r upstairs, I am seeing the same behavior.

That's not bad at all! It's actually very good!
Look at the speed your laptop is connecting. Most likely 300mbps at most. So even theoretically you can reach at most 150mbps on 2.4.
2.4G is not to be used for speed. For many reasons, congestion/busy spectrum being the most obvious one, but also the modulation used is not the best one.
Stick to 5GHz for performance and use 2.4 for its larger coverage. Don't struggle to get the most out of 2.4. Focus on getting the best from 5G.

pretty much spot on , 2.4 gig prob at best would be 300M if not 150M max due to obss coexistence , so there is no way for it to go faster , these days you only use 2.4 gig for low throughput demand devices

btw just so you know using specific ch 8 doesnt mean you not being interfered with from those around you as on 2.4 gig there are only 3 non overlapping channels those being ch 1 , 6 or 11
