384.7 older then RT-AC86U_3.0.0.4_384_32799 ?

seems there are issues with 384.7 , i have alots of wifi issues with it, never happened on the 32799 firmware

in 32799 release notes, they mention :
ASUS RT-AC86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384.32799
Fixed WIFI stability issue.

is this maybe not included in the merlin 384.7 firmware?

second question, can i just roll back to the original firmware by uploading this file :
RT-AC86U_3.0.0.4_384_32799-gfe72567_cferom_ubi

do i need to restore to factory afterwards? or just leave it like it is?

rool back and if you have no issues its fine, otherwise factory reset ...

Sure Merlin cannot build his firmware previous Asus releases their new GPL, how could he be in front of them?

384.7 uses GPL 384_21152 (384.8 alpha is using 384_32797; 384_32799 sources are not available yet).

You could upgrade to 384.8alpha as well, many reporting its fine.

Yes , but I need the 32799, alpha is a version behind that one...

32799 includes the wifi fixes

most changes are done to 32738 used by 384.8, not much differences to 32799.
Its just 1 minute work to load it and see if it solves your issues.

hmm, according to the other alpa thread, someone is also complaining about 5ghz issues :
same issue i had with 384.7 , so i think going back to stock 32799

Just a heads up alpha testers. For some reason I lost throughput on 5G wifi. I turned 5G off and on and it recovered. I'm going to watch this.

Just got a RT-AC86U during Black Friday deals and going to add it as my main router here, moving the current RT-AC68U to repeater mode.

I may just go with stock 32799 and wait for Merlin's version to pick that up (384.9?). I see his has Beta's out for 384.8 now.

32799 for the 86U has already been merged into 348.8.

Oops, I had read through the changelog to, missed that.. I go through the Beta2 thread to see if there are any wireless issues.

EDIT: I see how it missed it, not up in the changes (Beta 2 thread) since beta 1 (code wrapped) but 32799 stated below that and on his website's changelog.
