Yes, that would be the case. I am using MacOS and in the past ssh would timeout. With the newest version of macos the defaults must have changed.Many SSH clients send a keep-alive packet that prevents a connection from timing out.
The timeout works for me. Of course it depends which page you've left your browser on because some of them don't timeout by design.However, browser session auto logout is something different. The setting I have is for 30 minutes and it does not expires the http session.
