4G-AC55U firmware 3.0.0.4.378_8071 download

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone here knows how to persuade Asus to offer the firmware version 3.0.0.4.378_8071 for download? I have this version pre-installed on the device, but it's not available for download on the Asus website. The latest version there is 3.0.0.4.378.8067 for this device. I would also be interested in the source code package for my version.

I already contacted Asus support on this, but the guy who responded was clueless about this.

Ask to speak to their superior. But in the end, I do not think they are obligated to give you the source code (it is their choice).

Legally they are, by the GPL. However, tech support level 1 (and probably level 2) probably have no idea what GPL is.

Try sending an email to networking_support<at>asus.com about it. No guarantee that they will have that specific version available since it was intended for manufacturing, but they might be able to get you a newer build, or at least the source code.

Yeah this was my thinking also, but since the binaries aren't there either I kinda thought that they had just forgotten to make the version available or something like that. But since the support guy had basically no idea what I was talking about, I felt like having hit a dead end right there.
