I am using serial mode on my mf831 but the speed is slow. I would like to revert back to double NAT mode. In order for me to to that I need to issue AT commands to the modem. Is that possible from the merlin interface?

Yes, I did it from the cli (ssh) using echo as described on this page at section 3:

Where do I find a terminal window on my router? Or do I ssh into my router from my Mac and issue commands?

Just telnet or ssh into it (need to enable it first in Admin-GUI) and use echo to send commands.

This is what I get when lsusb.

now how do I echo ? What do I type?
