80 WiFi devices create lag

The 20 rule of thumb is for active devices. Would likely be fewer if all were streaming HD Netflix.

The rule of 20 still runs hard - even though I push things a bit with 25 clients/radio...

The other quick rule - 1500 sq ft for good coverage in 2.4GHz, 750 sq ft for 5GHz - client load not to exceed the rule above...

You are all are referring to the limits of the AP(WiFi) not the router.
