I have bought ASUS AC86U, an opened-box, from a local retailer, which is dirt cheap! The first run was 2.4Ghz not working and the lighting in front for 2.4Ghz is dim, and the settings within the router crash for 2.4Ghz. I reset the router and installed Merlin firmware, and reset again after the upgrade. Still same issue, 2.4Ghz settings crash from the wireless tab in the WebUI also the lighting for 2.4Ghz is dim. Also, I've noticed that while connecting to 5Ghz internet drops for 3-5 seconds and then works again.
No fancy settings, just the default. And my current setup: my previous D link router is my main router now, and I hooked the ASUS AC86U through a cable as an AP (through the yellow ports) to extend the network. Current version 384.19. HW Ver R1.5
