Abysmal powerline uplink throughput

Getting about 35 mbps

https://1drv.ms/i/s!Aiod9EP7JYA-9zNhaNz2p75QeOF1

I have a total of three Zyxel PLA5205. Worth upgrading to Powerline 1200 speeds? Or lost cause? Reason I have powerline in addition to wireless is having a second wireless AP. At the time I set up the AP, wireless extenders were pretty bad. Also I appreciate powerline never needing to be rebooted or reset.

I am upgrading from 30/5 FIOS to 100/100 next week. 35 mbps won't do anymore.

Thoughts?

Try to fix what you have first... you should be getting better basic rates than you're seeing (54Mbps is very low). You should be seeing better rates that you're reporting with as the Zyxel kit you have is AV2 already - AV600, but throwing more HW isn't likely going to improve things...

Ensure that the PLC adapters are plugged directly into the wall, not on a power strip...

Other things to look at - Cell Phone chargers, old-school dimmer switches can throw a lot of noise on the wire - Also Ground Fault Interrupt (GFI) can impact PLC...

Double check the outlet wiring, ensuring that Hot, Neutral, and Ground are properly connected (a outlet checker can be found at most home improvement stores, and they're pretty cheap at less than $10USD - it plugs into the outlet, and has LED's that'll indicate if the outlet is wired right or not)

Thanks! It is plugged directly into a wall socket. I tried different wall sockets in the home office (where the NAS lives and internet connects) - no change here.

We have 30 year old outlets, we are getting tamper resistant ones installed next week. I'll have the electrician look at the wiring at the same time.

FWIW - Dimmer interference will happen when the light is "on", and same with Appliance Interference - only when the appliance is running...

The outlet tester I mentioned - and this is handy to keep in the homeowner's toolbox in any case... and for any consultant/contractor that is working with HPNA (HomePlug and G.Hn) stuff...
