AC2600 (QCA) vs AC3150 (Broadcom) if don't care about MU-MIMO

If you don't care about MU-MIMO and are purchasing a new wireless router today, would you say the AC2600's like the X4S or Archer C2600 are equivalent to the AC3150's like the RT-AC3100 or Archer C3150 in terms of performance and compatibility?

For example, are Broadcom-based routers more compatible with Apple devices, since they mostly use Broadcom chips (I believe)?

Interestingly, TP-Link is selling both models.
