I am using RT-AC66U and having the same problem with a few of the FW 380.63_2, 380.64_2 and all the latest beta 380.65_beta1-beta4.
The issues are as follows:
1. In OpenVPN Client, I select Client 3 and import a ovpn and connection is working fine. However changing the selection to Client 1 or anything else will return the page back to Client 3. So I am stuck with Client 3.
2. Importing a new ovpn to the same Client 3, even tho it said completed, it will revert back the IP address in the page to the previous ovpn, the same IP address, if manually change will also revert to the previous IP after clicking Apply button.
3. I read somewhere in the forum that you need to delete jffs or reset nvram and I did that too but still the first successful import data remains in place and yes still stuck at Client 3.
4. Next I did a full firmware restore, pressing the power on and reset button, and restore Asus stock firmware hoping that it clears all the settings. After successfully restoring Asus stock, I again replace it with 380.64_2 and as soon as I select the OpenVPN Client tab, it straightaway brings up the client 3 data AGAIN and same item 2 happening again.
5. I repeat step 4 and this time I put in 380.65_beta4 and the same thing happen. I am stuck with Client 3 imported values no matter what I do.
6. However using beta4, I am experiencing frequent reset of the router. My router will reboot every 3 minutes when I am using beta4. Only way to resolve this is to do the restoration process again (Step 4) and replace with the stable version. BUT STILL the old Client 3 data still untouched. I am now using the stock firmware.
I was hoping that Asus firmware restoration will clear all setup in the router but apparently it did not, even tho I have selected to erase NVRAM BEFORE installing the firmware. I am using Asus stock version
RT-AC66U_3.0.0.4_380_4180-ge57f472.trx before replacing them with AsusMerlin during the above process.
Questions:
1. Is Asus Firmware restoration process and nvram erase, RESET and CLEAR all data?
2. If not clear, what do I need to do a full reset with all values imported previously deleted?
This problem started after replacing the ca cert with a bundle cert which is a full-chained cert with root and intermediate cert as one.
Please update me on the steps needed to remove and replace and use all the Client 1 to Client 5 again.
Thank you
